Cameron Highlands

It has been 3 days since I last onlined and who knew I would in Penang. Lol. In the hotel now and it provides complimentary broadband. They actually included this service in the room rates already if you asked me! But least I have something else to do besides shopping now (will blog about Penang in a separate post).

Anyway, the reason why I was offline these past few days is because I am on a vacation with my family and as this post title suggests, one of the destinatins was Cameron Highlands. How was the place? Read below for a detailed cover on it.

‘Car sickness’ and nausea. Those are 2 words that can really describe Cameron Highlands to me. Lol! Just kidding. But they do come to mind whenever the name Cameron Highlands is brought up now.

We left as early as 6a.m. on the 26th of November. First destination was to grandma’s house. Lol. To pick her up. Then off we went. At around 8 something, we stopped at one of the rest houses along the highway (somewhere in Perak, I think) to have breakfast. Nasi lemak was the menu.

By 9 something, we were already in Tapah, Perak and the highway was build on highlands. And then we also spotted a waterfall from one of the mountains by the highway.

By 10a.m. we were already ascending the mountain to reach Cameron Highlands. And due to the fact that I get ‘car sickness’ easily, dad had to use the new road, Simpang Pulai to ascend as it is less winding compared to the old one in Tapah. Halfway up, my dad stopped and the view was already pretty amazing from there.

My old man. Lol. Taken halfway up Cameron Highlands. The background is already so cloudy.

It took us about an hour to actually reach Cameron Highlands. First stop in Cameron Highlands was Green View Garden. It has a dessest shop and a strawberry plantation. Bought some stuffs there including a Strawberry Struddle, which cost RM24.90!

Just a portion of the Strawberry Struddle

Besides strawberries, that place also have vegetable and flower plantation. Below are some photos taken there.

My mum and her mum. Lol

Matt and the tortoises. Should have pushes him in the pit! Just kidding

After spending about half an hour there, we headed straight to the hotel. We stayed in Equatorial Hotel which costs RM251 a night!

Front view of the hotel

That is how high the hotel is standing

As it is so high, the weather is much cooler than it is back in Melaka and UTM. About 24 celsius according to my dad.

At night, we wanted to walk outdoors but it rained. So we stayed in and that concludes day one.

Day two started as early as 7a.m. and the view outside my room then was really cloudy. Visibility was only about 100 meters. Below are 2 photos to compare the weather in the afternoon and early morning.

View outside my room on the 26th November around 3.30p.m.

View outside my room the next day, 27th November at 7.45a.m.

So the day started with a morning walk, where we spotted some really huge flowers.

And below are 2 photos from the morning walk.

Then grandma got tired from walking and we had to use the car. First destination of the day using the car was a place like a morning market. But it only sells lots of vegetables, flowers and food. And I even found Crabp her blue roses.

Then we went to Cactus Point. That place featured lots of flowers and many hideous cactus. From the photos I sent to Crabp, she said they look like some scene from a horror movie. Lol. Anyway, here are some photos taken at Cactus Point.

Then we headed to another strawberry farm and like the first one, it also has lots of vegetables and flowers. And again, photos from there.

And here is something funny featured at the park. There were scarecrows there and one of them was this fellow..

Spot anything funny about him?

He's having an erection! LOL!

After that, we had lunch. I skipped though as I was feeling the ‘car sickness’ once again. Then we got back and that pretty much concludes day two.

And that's a warp. As I said earlier, in Penang now and about to have dinner!
