Penang

As mentioned in the one of previous posts, Penang was the other place I went for my vacation. It was also good although nothing much was done on the island itself.

First thing I did there was have the famous 'nasi kandar'. Always love the 'nasi kandar' there. Mutton curry and squid eggs! Yummy! Lol. At night, we did a bit of walking by the bay and then had dinner at Bali Hai. It is a little expensive but to every seafood lovers out there, this place is a haven. Really and truly, it is. Awesome food. Photos, below.

Geoduck

Szechuan style fish. Really good

Don't know what fish are these but there were plenty of them

Cooked crab! Not crabp.

Live crabs

Moray eels

Cooked mantis prawns. They taste better than normal prawns. RM30 per prawn

Live mantis prawns

Lobsters

Slightly cooked octopus served with some kinda sauce. Really good and chewy

Grouper

Day two started early. My dad, Matt and I took a ferry to Pulau Payar and there we snokled. It was really cool but painful. Firstly, I got bitten by fishes. It was really painful. Some fishes that swam around me were about 2 feet long and some accoring to the faciliator there are poisonous if they bite you. Damn fishes. Secondly, I almost drown. Yes, a swimmer like me almost drown, The water was just so freaking deep and it got choppy. But overall, it was a really good outing to Pulau Payar. Unfortunately, I did not see any 'Nemo'. -Sigh-

Some crabs I saw

I wonder what it takes to avoid seeing 'crabs'

Sharks

And another

My dad caught a fish with his bare hand

Look at the fishes. A LOT

That day, I also got to know my results (posted in another entry). And also finally got my Coffee Bean priviledge card. Don't really know how it work yet but as long as it is a priviledge card and has benefit, it is cool. But NEVER try Black Forrest Ice Blended. Maybe you might like it but I strongly advise you not to try. And that ended day 2.

This morning was day 3 in Penang and last day in the overall trip. Had buffet breakfast. Only enjoy the sausages and toasts. Then wanted to go to Kek Lok Si temple but it is still under construction. And basically that was it.

So overall, it was a good vacation and for recommendations, those who like flowers and cold weather, Cameron Highlands is good. But plan the time you are going. It is NOT cold all year round. And for food lovers, Penang is the spot besides my hometown, Melaka.
