My Busy Life

I am finding this semester to be very busy indeed. Assignments are coming thick and fast. And on top of that, I have non-academical responsibilities to carry out. SUKAM is nearing. Therefore, futsal training has been really frequent and it is making me so tired. I am getting many bruises too. People keeps kicking me! Even Soo Chen kicked me. Next, Faculty Night plans are starting and as the head, work is coming. Meetings too. -Sigh-

And the worst part is that this semester really sucks. I think I am enjoying my time with friends and my non-academical responsibilities more than anything this semester. -Sigh- I hope it gets better cuz it is still a LONG more way to go before this semester ends. And I hope I will stop getting cuckoos are my lecturers. There has got to be good ones here besides TJ. Lol.

My Sincere Apologies

After learning Petrie's face was worse than of a 'kuali's, I am here to make sincere apologies to her. So her name is and always is..

PERNG SOO CHEN

..and nothing else. Not Shoe and definately not Kasut. Just SOO.

So no more 'kuali' face ok? :)

My Walking Garbage Dispenser.. LOL

SHOE Chen's back pocket. Easy and convenient to throw rubbish in. Lol

I Now Hate Mondays And Tuesdays

Yup. I really do. All because I have this bl**dy subject. BIOLOGICAL PSYCHOLOGY. Wait. The subject is good. It is the LECTURER that sucks. Big time. Not only doesn't she teaches us, she is a total cuckoo nuts. -Sigh- I am hating this class with every bit of me and so are my friends. So Mondays and Tuesdays are officially the stupid days of the week.

-Sigh- Actually, I am hating this whole semester. Can't wait for it to end. -Sigh-

Pictures!

As usual, I have pictures. Haha. Just one this time around. But I have to complain about this one. It is a photo of the menu found in a restaurant in Taman U. It is a Chinese restaurant. So it is natural that the menu is in Chinese. But the translation available is in 'pin yin'. What the hell??! There better not be any translation at all in the first place!

Not friendly to non-Mandarin speaking customers like me!!

I Guess It Is Not About Me. It Is About Them.

Today's The Star Online reports this.

Middle Eastern men attracted to locals

MEN from Middle Eastern countries are attracted to local Malay women because they are beautiful and soft-spoken, Utusan Malaysia reported yesterday.

They also claim that the women are independent, smart, generous, friendly and willing to compromise.

“Most Malaysian women are gorgeous, open-minded and rich,” said Saudi Arabian Syed Reza Walid, 26.

The college student from Damansara admitted that his girlfriend was a local Malay.

“Although I have only known her for three months, I really love her and wish to start a family with her here,” he said.

Kavel Shahi, 24, who has been here for six months, said a local girl and a fellow campus-mate has “stolen his heart”.

The student from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia said he was happy to have a loyal girlfriend.

Mahdi Saman, 24, said Malay women were hardworking and willing to help their friends from abroad.

Libyan Musbah Guma Alwarfaly, 26, said he was happy here because Malaysians were friendly and the different races were living together peacefully.

So it really isn't about me that 2 middle eastern guys like me. Lol.

My Semester So Far

18 credits this semester..

7 subjects..

That is the statistics so far.

My first subject is Psychological Testing and Measurement. The lecturer sucks so far. All he does is talk granpa stories.
Second is Industrial Psychology. Taught by Dr Ishak again. Haven't seen him though. He is on holiday. Would you believe that?
Next, Cognitive Psychology. The lecturer is this guy who speaks English with English accent. Lol. He's kinda cool.
Then there is Biological Psychology which totally sucks upon getting a FREAKING SUCKY lecturer. Don't wanna start complaining now cuz if I do, I won't stop and I would curse. -Sigh-
Fifth is Training and Development. The lecturer is a lady. So was the one teaching Biological Psychology. But this one is better. And she thinks I am Turkish. Lol.
Next is, Institusi Islam. -Sigh- Should I even say anything? I guess not. -Sigh-
Lastly, FUTSAL! That is my Co-Q. Probably the subject I will enjoy most. Lol!

That is about it. For now. I am bound to complain more later. Lol!

Funeral For The Firefly

Yup. You read right. You don't have to pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming or wipe your glasses to see if you read wrong. I am very sure you read right. I guarantee you. FUNERAL FOR THE FIRELY. Is that big enough?

Lol! Anyway, today, at around 1p.m., I think, we had a little funeral ceremony for May Peng's firefly. This firefly came to my room last night and knowing how much May Peng likes fireflies, I gave it to her. Long story short, it died. God knows what May Peng 'did' to it. Haha! Just kidding. So to complete the mourning, darling, SHOE Chen, May Peng and I gave it a funeral rite. Darling even made a 'coffin' for the corpse. And SHOE Chen contributed a paper rose. One that is bigger than the 'coffin'. And then we walked it down 'memory lane' and finally to the 'burial ground'. Dug a 6 CENTIMETERS hole (LOL) and threw the 'coffin' in it and I even had to say something like I was the minister from the church! Lol. Then, we even washed our faces after attending the funeral. According to the Chinese beliefs, we have to. So that is the end of the funeral. Now we are having our 40 minutes mourning period, I think.

The firefly when I first noticed it.

The firefly in glowing in the dark.

Again, the firefly.

The rose for the deceased.

The 'coffin' with the corpse in it.

May Peng digging the grave.

The burial.

Still burying.

The end.

Geez! I just re-read this piece of crap and it really sounds like crap and we are a bunch of sick psycho students. -Sigh- Poor me. -Whines- The things we do.

More New Babies!!

I think sooner or later, my mum will not want me to go back to Melaka whenever I am free. Not only does she has to bring me and my brother to better restaurants to eat, but she is dragged to shopping sprees by me and I kinda 'ketuk' RM300 of her already! Lol. Thanks, ma. Love ya. Lol. But on the second thought, she isn't a cheapskate and I will be going back by the 9th of August anyway, to get more stuffs. Haha. I just have to use up the voucher or I am really stupid. Who doesn't make use of good Esprit vouchers anyway? Lol.

So I have 2 new babies from Esprit and one of them is a watch!! Love it so much!

And now, I think I can go a week just wearing nothing but Esprit tops. Yay! That is an achievement! Lol.

Food!!

One highlights about going home is the food I get. Lol!

Sunday's lunch. Daddy's really good lamb steak.

Sunday's dinner, which I cooked with lots of LOVE and brought it back to uni for my greedy friends.

Saturday's dinner. Cod fish and really good vegetables among the dishes.

And not forgetting, home baked cookies!! Yummy!

And that is definately a reason to go home!! Lol. Besides seeing my family, of course.

The End of Bad Luck Spell

So I went back home this weekend and I got my fridge repaired. Thanks, daddy!

Then, 38 Senior sort of fixed my laptop. Thanks, 38!

And my phone..warranty covers it. So thanks, warranty! Lol!

My Spell of Bad Luck

I don't know what is going on but my luck cannot be any worse or I shall go nuts.

Firstly, my fridge just suddenly decided to not work anymore. Now I can't even drink my milk! And I can't get my garlic butter and stuffs. -SIGH!!!!!!-

Secondly, my laptop is messing with me. It won't shut down. It won't read pendrives or external. It won't allow Bluetooth to work. It won't even work any external mouse connected to it. Another big -SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!- And I have no idea how to transfer my inportant stuffs now to an external in case I have to format it again. -SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-

Next, my new phone is also playing with me. There is something wrong with the screen. I believe there is something disfunctional about the pixles.

Lastly, my glasses broke. Not the whole thing. Just one leg. -Sigh-

What next? Listing this makes me wanna cry already. And as if I don't have other problems in my head. I need a break. =(

A Stupid Move

This is an article I got from The Star Online.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Cabinet has decided that the medium of instruction for Maths and Science will revert to Bahasa Malaysia in national schools and mother-tongue languages in national-type schools from 2012 onwards.

The reversal of the Teaching of Math and Science in English (PPSMI) policy will be done in stages, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said on Wednesday.

He however added that there will be greater emphasis on learning the English language.

English literature will be re-introduced, as will subjects on grammar and composition.

Beginning 2012, students in Year One and Year Four in primary schools, and Form One and Form Four in secondary schools, will learn Math and Science in Bahasa Malaysia.

The change will not affect those in Form Six and Matriculation.

The two subjects will be taught in two languages until 2014 for other students, he said.

“The gap between rural and urban students has widened since PPSMI started.

“Only 19.2% of secondary teachers and 9.96% of primary teachers were sufficiently proficient in English,” he said, explaining the Government’s decision to revert to the old system.

On efforts to emphasise the learning of English, the number of English teachers would be increased by 13,933 -- retirees would be hired, as well as foreigners if need be.

Primary schools will also increase English classes by 90 minutes a week.

There have been calls from various groups for the policy to revert to before 2003, when the subjects were taught in Bahasa Malaysia in national schools, and either in Chinese or Tamil in national-type schools.

The issue has seen a rare alliance between Malay and Chinese educationists, who are against the switch, although there are also calls by many parents and entrepreneurs for English to be maintained.

So, what do you think? I think it is stupid. It is no wonder MANY students here in uni cannot speak in English. And even some LECTURERS for that humiliating matter.

Thomas Vermaelen

Arsenal started their training this week and regular faces were present except, Kieron Gibbs, Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas. However, latest signing, Thomas Vermaelen (Belgium) joined the team and I think he seems happy. Lol. New Gunner!

Hmm..

Aftre such a long time not blogging, I think I am getting lazy. Gotta get the mood on before I start blogging like nuts again. Gotta keep the 30 posts on average a month record. Lol!

Anyway, as I am writing this, my whole school break is over. It was overall a good one.

Then came orientation training (I was selected to handle my school's new students orientation - INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS). The camp in Water City was real fun. Then came the boring part. All the hearing, etc. -Sigh- After that, we began orientating. And overall, it was a nice experience. I have learnt a lot especially in dealing with foreigners and bus drivers. Lol! Also, I have made some really nice friends (and a very cute one). Lol. There is Ili from Brunei. She is hyper. Lol. Then there is her roommate, the super cute, Ma Yan. Haha. Also some Turks name, Kubi and Bircan (pronunced as Birjan). Also some Somalians (the two towers), Abdi and YoMoHus (Yousof Mohamed Hosein). Then there is Myanmar guy Chit Wai Oo a.k.a. Salman. Also this crazy guy from Yemen named Malik. And some local friends also. Anyway, it was awesome and I wouldn't mind doing it again. =)
