Pictures!

Starting from today, I am gonna post entries entitled "Pictures!" like this one. Basically it contains photos of things that are funny, weird, sceptical, etc that I see around me and what I think about them. So I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do when I saw them! Lol!

When I was back in Melaka for my long semester break last year, I went out with my brother, Matthew, a lot and he is a very observant guy when on the road. Never bet with him on directions and how a car differ from another. He knows them extremely well. Trust me. So anyway, when we out 1 day, he spotted a Perodua Rusa and it had a sticker on its back screen as seen below.

We couldn't really tell what it is until we stopped behind it at the traffic light and it reads:

So beware people out there if you are not a Muslim! Lol! Well, at least that is according to the driver of the above Perodua Rusa. -Sigh- Some people are just fanatics when it comes to their religion. Give it a break guys. Any religion in the world is safe to practise.

Next. Yesterday, I was out with some friends, namely 'darling', Phui See (Sotong), Li Ting, Siew Fong and Eric. We went swimming and played a game of water polo. Anyway, at the pool, I met and made a whole bunch of new friends, which was cool. Long story short, on the way to dinner, I passed this car wash centre and it had this written on the outside of its restroom door.

So where do the workers go if they have to pass motion? And what if one of them was purging? Lol!

Race 1: Australian Grand Prix

The first race of the season is taking place this weekend in Melbourne, Australia. So I though I give some facts about the race.

Length: 5.303 km
Laps: 58 (307.574 Km)
Last Year Results:
1. L. Hamilton
2. N. Heidfeld
3. N. Rosberg
Record Lap: M. Schumacher - 1'24''215 (2004, Ferrari)
Record Pole: M. Schumacher - 1'24''408 (2004, Ferrari)

2003 D. Coulthard (McLaren)
2002 M. Schumacher (Ferrari)
2001 M. Schumacher (Ferrari)
2000 M. Schumacher (Ferrari)

From the facts above, I am sure you'd noticed that only Ferrari, Renault and McLaren has won the Australian GP since year 2000. However, after the qualifying just now, we might see a new winner emerge. Below are the qualifying results.

1. Jenson Button (Brawn)
2. Rubens Barrichello (Brawn)

4. Robert Kubica (BMW)
5. Nico Rosberg (Williams)
6. Timo Glock (Toyota)

19. Adrian Sutil (Force India)
20. Sebastien Bourdais (Toro Rosso)

So by looking at the starting grid for tomorrow, the first supposely big name is on 4th row, Felipe Massa. And what a suprise for Brawn Racing Team. And reigning champion, Lewis Hamilton is way back at 15th position. So it is race on tomorrow!

Eastick Hails Arsenal’s English Talent

To those who think that Arsenal is a club that betrays England for not fielding enough English players during matches, think again. Below is an article from Arsenal.com. It is written by Declan Taylor.

England Under-19 manager Brian Eastick believes Arsenal have a “terrific track record” in producing home-grown talent.

Captain Henri Lansbury and Gavin Hoyte were both included in Eastick’s 18-man squad for Tuesday’s friendly with the Czech Republic at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium. Unfortunately, a back injury kept Lansbury out of action but Hoyte completed 90 minutes at centre back in England’s goalless draw.

After the game, the manager paid tribute to Arsenal’s production of young Englishman before running the rule over the two Gunners in the squad.

“Arsenal have some very good young English players,” Eastick said. “It’s not rocket science, if you are a young player at a top club it is very difficult to break through into the first team - you have got to be an exceptional talent.

“Arsenal have got a terrific track record though. If you look at the number of players playing in the Premier League now there are a lot of them from there.

“Players like Fabrice Muamba, who captained my team here a couple of years ago, Steve Sidwell, David Bentley, Arsenal do produce a lot of players. But you have to be a bit special to secure a place in Arsenal’s first team.”

The Young Lions struggled to create any clear-cut chances against a resolute Czech defence, but Eastick thought that the absent Lansbury might have made the difference.

“If you look at his four goals for us this year they have all come from around the edge of the box - the Germany goal comes to mind,” he went on. “The game against the Czech Republic was very similar to Germany, which we won 1-0, but we have drawn 0-0. It shows how tight those games are.

“He is one of those players who can score a goal; he’s very, very good in and around the 18-yard box. He is a talent and I’m sure Arsenal have loaned him out to get some valuable experience and hopefully it will do him the world of good.

“He’ll find the game style different to what it is in Arsenal’s reserves and at international level. He has gone on loan for his education – to experience all that.

“As for Gavin, he has that great asset of pace. He is on loan at Watford and I think he needs to improve a little bit on the ball at times, but of course if you have that pace at the back it is a massive asset. It covers a multitude of sins.”

So although Arsenal is not fielding many English players, at least they are producing many good ones. However, they just don't make the cut when it comes for playing for the first team as Arsenal has a bunch of other talented players from other countries.

In brief, I think that in the end, it is not a question of who Arsenal fields but it is a question of who deserves to be fielded. And having said that, I guess the English just don't deserve it as much as the players of other nations do.

I Don't Know..

..if I should be mad or happy.

My residential college had a meeting yesterday. It involved all of last semester's SUKAM athletes. I was exempted from it however. Lets just say I know people to be exempted from certain stuffs.

Anyway, to my surprise and my friends who attended it, I was made the manager for next semester's ladies' futsal for SUKAM. I tried pulling myself out from that position but the principal of this college already knows about it and he wants me to take the position. So ok, since he gave me an easy quota. I do owe him one.

But being a manager ain't easy. I have seen how my last semester's manager turned from the likeable one to the hated one overnight. Lets just say the players are usually a bunch of unhappy and 2 faced people (some are real snobby b****es, really).

Moreover, they usually vent among themselves after training sessions and matches and it is normally about cursing the manager and stuffs. And I actually thought the ex-manager was nice. But you know people. Anyway, they have managed to drive her up the wall and she totally quit the team. I heard she won't even be staying in KTR anymore for the coming semesters. But she is still gonna help me with stuffs. So thanks to her. But then again, she is moving to KDSE and that is the futsal team I wanna avenge!! And I am so gonna miss playing with her by the way. How I wish she would play in an upcoming tournament (will blog about this later) with me! She says she can't as so many players in the team despise her. But she is still gonna come up and watch. Told you she is nice but some others are just jack asses.

Plus, I have to manage 2 teams and I have to select players for both teams and people get unhappy with the way a manager divides the players. Saying one team gets the better players, the manager is bias and so on. -Sigh-

And last semester, the players are bloody lazy when it comes to training. The manager and I had to usually wait up to half an hour for them to turn up. That sucks, ain't it? And during the tournament, they weren't even serious and as a result, we did poorly. Except for me maybe? Lol. I did score all of my team's goals anyway. Lol.

On the other hand, I guess in the midst of everything, I do feel a little honoured and proud actually. I did not feel this way last night as I was too mad about this issue. But today, I kinda do. You see, in this university, when it comes to everything, the Malays get them first. From quotas to whatever. And in my futsal team, I am 1 of the only 2 juniors and I am also the ONLY Chinese player. According to many, I am like the first Chinese futsal player for KTR. Lol! So of all people, they actually want me in charge. I don't know if they are just mocking me, but to me, I actually kinda deserve it anyway. I am the best among them. And I am not even boasting. I have my stats to speak for me. And my dad will tell you that also.

And I think I do know how to manage them. And it starts with the attitude. I was thinking that since they made me manager, I know just how to train (torture) them. One thing I like most so far is the thought of being able to punish them for being late! For every minute one is late, 1 sit up? Or 1 push up? Or my favourite, run a lap around the court? Lol! I will certainly look forward to that.

And oh yeah, lastly, I would like to thank those who actually supported me with this especially Soo Chen for willing to join the team and hopefullyhelp me out. And my ex-manager, Noorain. All the best for her in new surroundings next semester. Thanks a lot.

TESTS!!!!!

Lately, I feel like my classmates and I are being fired with one test after another. We have Statistics test 2 on Saturday, Developmental Psychology test on Monday, French test on Tuesday and another Islamic Psychology test (to be announced when). I haven't even study any! And we are not even done with our assignmnents!! (In fact, I am completing one now! And then I am gonna try to do another. God knows when I am gonna sleep! My record is falling! Lol.) -Sigh- We are all gonna be real psychos after all these.

Oh yeah, on Sunday, the first Formula One race of this season is taking place in Australia and I will be covering all the races on my blog this season. For for those of you who just loves Formula One and do not have a source to watch it, look out for my posts on the stats, etc and also post race entries.

And there is no club soccer this weekend. All are off for international duty. World Cup qualifying.

Sickening Note-Making And STUPID Lecturer

If I could use foul language here without getting a call from my mum after she reads it, this post will never be suitable for kids. 'Cause I was just that mad when my stupid (the best word I could use to stay away from foul language) lecturer kept making us change our stupid note-makings. ARGH!! I spent HOURS on that and if all my other lecturers were as stupid as her, my classmates and I wouldn't have to sleep anymore whenever we were given an assignment. She is just that stupid.

This was my first draft.

This one is the second and was suppose to be the final one is if was good enough for that jack-ass.

This one was the the final one until that jack-ass "Godzilla" complained that it was still not good enough. (Controlling myself from using "better" words.)

And this one is the best I will ever do for this stupid assignment. If she doesn't like it, I wish I could just crush it, throw it at her and leave the class.

Thankfully she accepted it though. Just got back from class. Was cursing her the whole way in class. No wonder I can be champion in the World Complaining and Nagging Championship. -Sigh- But for now, I am off to bed. Gotta keep my sleeping record above 50%. Lol

I Don't Draw Tigers

It's true. I don't because I can't. And if you are wondering why I even brought this subject up, it is because my French quiz yesterday required me to draw a TIGER. How the hell am I suppose to draw a TIGER? Anyway, because I desperately need every single quiz marks, assignments and so on before heading for my finals, I drew it. So did my friends (who weren't really artists as well expect 'darling' maybe). Lol.

Below here is a tiger that looks a lot like a cat. The artist: Lim Siau Hui or Sampat.

Below here is 'darling's tiger. She said it is a hybrid tiger. A friend of mine thinks it is a zebra though.

And this one is a tiger who has a tiger's head but not a tiger's body. Artist: Perng Soo Chen or ADHD.

Lastly, my tiger. CUTE tiger says 'darling'. Very CUTE tiger. But all I can do when I see this tiger is laugh my head off. I was laughing mad during my quiz because of it and it still makes me laugh. And so did PJ when I showed her in english class. -Sigh-

What can I say? I don't draw tigers and neither do my friends apparently. LOL!

Thr(w)ee

As I mentioned in thr(w)ee posts ago, yesterday was May Peng's birthday and 'darling' and I noticed many things that were associated with the number thr(w)ee. Coincidently, that is the only number Duckie has problem saying.

1. We gave her thr(w)ee suprises. The first is from 'darling' and ADHD. They cooked 'mee suah' for her. It contained thr(w)ee food. 'Mee suah', fishball and thr(w)ee, sausage. The second is courtesy of Sampat. She cooked some 'thong sui'. And number thr(w)ee, we suprised her with a steamboat dinner.

2. Prior to that, we went to Taman U for lunch after our group discussion. It went well by the way. She liked it, I guess. Hats off to ADHD. She did really well. So back to my story on number thr(w)ee. After lunch, we went over to Jaya Jusco (it was almost thr(w)ee in the afternoon by then) while waiting for the bus, which was again very late!!! But anyway, we kinda went into Viss, a shoe shop, and most of the shoes there are available in thr(w)ee colours! Also, at JJ, we bumped into thr(w)ee of our coursemates, namely Ah Ma, Aunty Ling and Sampat. Later while waiting for the bus to come, thr(w)ee of us sat together while I sat alone and Siew Fen stood up. Eventually, the thr(w)ee other coursemates we bumped into earlier were done with their shopping (that is just how long we had to wait for the bus!). And they took a taxi and since there was only thr(w)ee of them, I was told to follow them as I looked tired (waking up early does things to me by noon).

Th(w)ee. At the steamboat dinner, we prepared everything in thr(w)ee for May Peng. Thr(w)ee fishballs, thr(w)ee prawns, thr(w)ee buns with thr(w)ee holes, etc. (Incidently, I can only remember and mentioned thr(w)ee food here. Lol.)

4. For the steamboat dinner, we left our college at 7p.m. and came back at 10p.m.. So we were out for thr(w)ee hours long.

5. May Peng is now 21 years old. 2+1= thr(w)ee. But she is in fact 2100 years old actually. So don't be too happy over there!

And I guess that is about it. But guess how many thr(w)ee I have typed so far.

Answer: Twenty-thr(w)ee! Lol!

By the way, today, I posted thr(w)ee posts. Not done on purpose.

So, run as you like from the number thr(w)ee, PJ. But I guess this number thr(w)ee is just gonna follow you. I guess, number thr(w)ee just really, really, REALLY (I typed thr(w)ee really's by the way) like you. Lol.

Confused While Bathing

While I was bathing this morning, I got a little confused and I also wished I brought my mobile phone with me.

There I was, bathing when I heard my neighbour in the next cubicle singing. Or at least I think she was. At first I did thought that she was singing a Malay song. It as really bad. Then I rethink and said to myself that maybe she was humming. But I could hear some words. And after some deliberating, I finally realised that she was indeed singing. An English song. Katy Perry's Hot N Cold. Geez.. Some people are just really tone deaf, I guess.

And there should be rules against singing while one is bathing! (Because it made me laughed like crazy while bathing.)

Arsenal Somewhat Closes The Gap

With Manchester United and Chelsea playing earlier than Arsenal last night, Arsenal knew that if United and The Blues were to lose, a win can close the gap for Arsenal. And that all happened.

With Fulham's captain, Danny Murphy, who is also an ex-Liverpool player, saying that they should do Liverpool a favour by beating Manchester United earlier this week, Fulham looked really good. Murphy converted a penalty in the first half for Fulham and late into the game, Fulham doubled their lead. And that is how the game ended with Fulham winning 2-0. The game also saw Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney sent off.

In London, a derby was played. Tottenham Hotspur hosted Chelsea. And all ends well, with Luca Modric scoring the only goal in the match to give Spurs a win. I may not like Tottenham but thanks to them.

And with both top teams losing, Arsenal knew they must win and Manuel Almunia saving Obefami Martins' penalty in the first half was pretty decisive for The Gunners. In the second half, Nicklas Bendtner scored. 13 seconds into the restart, Newscastle equalised. But Arsenal had the last say. In the space of 10 minutes after their first goal, Arsenal turn a goalless match into 1-3 with Abou Diaby and Samir Nasri scoring. And once again, Andrey Arshavin was influential.

Last night results also threw the title race wide open again. Liverpool will be playing tonight and if they win, they will be in the chase again.

UEFA Champions' League Quarterfinals and Semifinals Draw

Yesterday in Nyon, the draw for the quarterfinals and semifinals for this season's UEFA Champions. League took place. As I have mentioned earlier, the remaining 8 clubs are:
1) Arsenal (Eng)
2) Barcelona (Spa)
3) Bayern Munich (Ger)
4) Chelsea (Eng)
5) Liverpool (Eng)
6) Manchester United (Eng)
7) Porto (Por)
8) Vilarreal (Spa)

With 4 English clubs heading into the quaterfinals yet again, chances of having an all English club semifinals was yet again present. However, bear in mind that there are no more country protection once reaching the quarterfinals. So chances of 2 English teams meeting each other also present.

So anyway, long story short, the result of the draw is as follows:
Quarterfinal 1: Manchester United vs Porto
Quarterfinal 2: Villarreal vs Arsenal
Quarterfinal 3: Liverpool vs Chelsea
Quarterfinal 4: Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Semifinal 1: Quarterfinal 1 vs Quarterfinal 2
Semifinal 2: Quarterfinal 3 vs Quarterfinal 4

So I guess there are a few good games here. Manchester United has fairly easy draws while Liverpool and Chelsea will face each other yet again. This is the 5th consecutive time that they have met in the UEFA Champions' League. Last season saw Chelsea kicking Liverpool out. And 2 giant killers (Barca and Bayern) in the previous round will play each other. And semifinal 2 looks really good no matter who plays.

As for Arsenal, I think facing Villarreal wouldn't be too tough. They do not have to travel far and they have recently met in the semifinals, which Arsenal prevailed. It would be nice though to see former Arsenal midfielder, Robert Pires once again.

And just briefly, in tennis, Maria Sharapova came back to play in a doubles match recently but was defeated. It was her first competitive match this year. Hopefully, she will be able to compete later this year in the French Open. Roland Garros is the only Grand Slam she has yet to conquer. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic has been losing again and again this year.

Now, in Formula One, there are some significant changes of rules this year. Perhaps the most talked about is the change of way in determining the champion. Previously, the champion was determined with the champion being the driver who has the most points. However, the FIA decided to change the system, awarding the driver with the most wins to take the crown. The runner up will be determined by the points systems. The awarding of the constructors' title also remained unchanged. Nonetheless, the change of the system has already been criticised by many including 7 times world champion, Michael Schumacher who said that it is not logic to have someone in second place of the drivers' standings bagging the crown just because he had win more races. Defending champion, Lewis Hamilton had also criticised the system, saying it is unfair to award the crown to the one who wins the most as they should be looking at consistency, meaning, it doesn't matter if he finishes first or third. So long as he finished top in the drivers' standings. Anyway, the outcome of this rule will be seen at the end of the season. For now, during all the testings, Ferrari, Renault, BMW Sauber and Brawn GP looks strong will McLaren are struggling. The new F1 season will start this March 29th at Albert Park, Australia.

Happy Birthday, May Peng!!!!

Today is the birthday of a really nice friend of mine. I may not have known her for a very long time but if one spends a few days with her and during that time, one gets close to her, one will know just how nice she can be. And although she was really serious last semester, she has kinda come out of her shell this semester and she is pretty much crazy nowadays. So it is also really fun to be with her. And if you ever need advice, this is one you can turn to. Also, if you ever need anyone to push you to eat, she is capable of doing it too. If her words doesn't make you wanna eat, that cute face she throws in will. At least that happens to me a lot. So here's to Tan May Peng, a good friend and a nice companion.
So...

To dearest Tan May Peng or PJ or Teh Ci Peng or Duckie,

HAPPY
21st (2100th)
BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I wish you all the best in life and that this year will be a great one for you.

And just for today, you are MORE CUTE compared to my foot.

-Natalia or Xiao Niu or Kopi Peng or Chomper-

P/S: Just for your information, that Chomper I gave you took me 3 hours to make. That is the longest I have ever spent on making someone anything! Lol.

Arsenal Booked Their Semifinal Spot

On Tuesday night, Arsenal faced Hull City for a spot in this season's FA Cup semi final against Chelsea. And although Hull City got an early lead, 2 late strikes from Robin van Persie and William Gallas sealed the match for Arsenal. The other 2 remaining teams in the competition is Manchester United and Everton.

All Hail Andrey Arshavin

As an Arsenal fan over all these years, I do know one thing about Arsenal very well. Whenever they score very early in a match, they either go on a rampant later on or they will just sit back and allow the opponent to come back at them.

But yesterday, the lads were superb as they went on a goal feast and they have no one but Andrey Arshavin to thank for. He was just incredible last night. Well, just 4 actually. Lol! But if you are a team that had just undergo a string of 4 goalless matches recently, 4 is plenty! (What is with all these number 4's? Lol!)

The first goal came on the 2nd minute of the game. I wasn't even comfortable in my seat yet that time. But I have nothing to complain about. Arsenal can score in the very first second of the game and I would still be VERY HAPPY. Lol! Anyway, the goal was first credited to Arshavin. However, it was later given as an own goal. Nonetheless, little did Arshavin know that he will still get his first goal for Arsenal last night.

Nevertheless, he was ecstatic when it went in. Seen here is one happy Arshavin with the playmaker, Theo Walcott. He too was very influential in the outcome of yesterday's match.

Then it was pretty much missed chances. One after another with Nicklas Bendtner being the main culprit. The guys who were watching, Ma Lee and I were just so angry with him for missing some 4 t0 6 good chances. Arshavin though had his scoring boots on last night. In the second half, he did something so brilliant that I was just blown away.

Upon getting the ball from Denilson, he tricked a defender and went on to score from a really tight angle. Just mind-boggling brilliant.

And he celebrated his official first goal in a very cheeky and naughty way. Lol. Still kinda adorable though. The new hero for Arsenal. Just so briliant. If only we could have him to play in the Champions League!

Here he is again. A clearer picture of his cheeky style of celebrating. He was obviously having a time of his life on the pitch.

Anyway, later in the match, Bendtner was taken off for Emmanuel Eboue. And as much as I was happy to see one culprit out, I wasn't too keen to see Eboue coming on either. Lets just say he ain't that brilliant of a player either. Lol! But yesterday, he kinda proved me wrong. Just a little though. I still don't really like him. He scored 2 goals. Would you believe that? One is almost an open goal and the other is penalty. But the point is, he DID NOT SMASH THE BALL OVER THE BAR!! Lol!

So 4-0 to Arsenal. Arshavin, Walcott and Eboue had a brilliant night while Bendtner should think of improving his finishing.

Lagging...

Back in my high school days, I used to be able to just wake up around 4a.m. before a particular test or examination to study and I will score good results. However, I guess I am sort of a person who sleeps a lot these days and lags quite a lot too (I am still not a pig and maybe some of you would say I do lag a lot at times). Anyway, as I woke up from my hibernation and just sat and thought about my bl**dy Statistics test again, I finally knew what happened. I finally knew why my brain was empty. As I recalled how I did my paper, question 1 kinda made me bored. Hence, I yawned a little and then I found myself lagging. That is why I just totally forgot how to count all the percentile thingies. -Sigh- I am NEVER waking up early to study anymore. On the positive note, recalling how the paper went also kinda made me realised that I might not have done so badly. But then again..I never really know until I get it back and I don't think I am really looking forward to getting it back. Lol! At least I am no longer angry though. Anyway, I had better go get my dinner before my friends and 'darling' 'bising-bising' at me as I totally skipped lunch out of anger.

What The....?

Yup. It is really wt*??! Had my bl**dy Statistics paper just now and halfway through it, I felt like crushing the bl**dy test papers. It is not that it is extremely hard or that I did not study because I really did! I even woke up at 7a.m. this morning to revise the whole bl**dy subject again! And I was sure I knew all the calculations. However, upon answering, I found myself blank. Bl**dy hell! God knows what was wrong! Argh!!! And for my theories, for each questions, I only managed like 5-7 lines of answers! Wth???!! I am doomed to fail this bl**dy paper for sure. But wth. I told myself I am gonna hibernate after this paper and that is exactly what I am gonna do now. Bl**dy Statistics and fisherman!

One Down!

Yay! Just got back from my Psychology of Personality test and I think it went well. I even finished my paper half an hour earlier and so did 'darling' (she even hugged my arm all the way back to the hostel to ensure I dream of her more frequently). Lol. I guess it was either that easy or we have both gone mad. Lol. But anyway, I think I did ok with the exceptions of not being sure with some of my answers. But what the hack. Now I just need to focus on another test before I get to really hibernate (and I am not a PIG!!!!).

Oh yeah. I also found out that I am having another test this Tuesday. Islamic Psychology third test. -Sigh- Hoping it is an open book test. And it might be covering everything we have learnt so far and that is A LOT!!!

Assignments And Tests!!

Today, I had just received another assignment. It is for my Developmental Psychology and it dues on the 25th of March!! So my March just got more busy. And it involves reviewing 2 bl**dy journals. Thankfully, though, it only requires 3-6 pages.

Also, 2 days ago, I got back my Islamic Psychology assignment and there are some corrections to be done. -Sigh!!!-

So on Sunday, I must edit the Islamic Psychology work, write a script for my group's English For Academic Communication discussion and start on my Developmental Psychology work. I predict I will go mental by the end of the day.

And now tests. I will be having my Psychology of Personality test tomorrow. 40 objectives questions covering 4 chapters. I am pretty much done revising that. So I guess it is ok.

However, I will have another test on Saturday. Bl**dy Statistics test and I think I am dead meat with that one. Already studied and it still feels like I have learnt nothing. Argh!!!

Goodbye Italians, English Continues To Dominate

8 teams still remain in this season's UEFA Champions League.

1 of them is German giants, Bayern Munich.

Another is only remaining Portuguese side left, Porto.

2 more are from Spain, Barcelona and Villareal.

And the other 4 are the dominant English clubs, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

For the second successive season, the future of the cup remaining England is bright.

How did it all happen?

I am pretty sure all of you remember what happened a fortnight ago. If anyone needs reminding, just look it up in 2 of my previous posts.

But on the past 2 nights, the final verdict was out.

On Tuesday night, 5 times winner, Liverpool buried Spanish giant, Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield. They went through with the aggregate of 5-0. Chelsea also made it with the aggregate of 3-2 after a 2-2 draw in Turin against Juventus. Villarreal also progressed on the same aggregate over Greek's Panathinaikos. And the champion of the night is perhaps Bayern Munich who crushed Sporting Lisbon 7-1 to advance with the record aggregate of 12-1.

Last night, through Nemanja Vidic and Christiano Ronaldo, Manchester United kicked out Jose Mourinho's Internazionale. Ex-Gunner, Thierry Henry contributed 2 more goals as Barcelona defeated Lyon 5-2 to advance on a 6-2 aggregate. Porto and Atletico Madrid however played out to a goalless draw but the Portuguese side advance as they have 2 away goals after the 2 all draw in Madrid a fortnight ago. And lastly, my team, Arsenal, the Gunners.

This happened a fortnight ago.

Robin van Persie winning it for The Arsenal

Last night, the advantage was cancelled out early as Roma's defender, Juan scored in the 9th minute, a mistake that both Kolo Toure and William Gallas will not rue on. As the night passed, no more goals were scored. Then came extra time and although Arsenal looked like the better side among the two during the dying minutes, they lack the final touch to seal the match. So came the penalty shoot-outs.

The first to take was Arsenal's weekend hero, Eduardo and he misses!

Then came David Pizarro and he belted his kick to Manuel Almunia's right and it's 1-0 Roma.

Next was fortnight's match winner, van Persie and he sent Doni the wrong way and scores!

Vucinic then came on and took a dreadful penalty and Almunia saved easily! Now both sides have missed one and the score remained 1-1.

After 4 months out, Theo Walcott returned last week and he was next. He stepped up and scored for Arsenal!

2-2 as Julio Baptista thumped the ball emphatically into the top corner.

Frenchman, Samir Nasri stepped up, halted his run and then sent Doni the wrong way to give Arsenal a 3-2 lead.

Next came Vincenzo Montella who performed an audacious skip before side-footing into the bottom corner.

Young Brazillian, Denilson was next. And he scored.

The great Francesco Totti up next. He must score. And without a hint of nerves, he blasted his shot into his top right corner, with Almunia stationary.

Captain of the night, Toure next and he scored in unconvincing fashion. 5-4 to Arsenal.

Up next is Alberto Aquilani and he scored by sending Almunia the wrong way. The scoreline is once again tied.

Bacary Sagna scored with real composure.

6-6! John Arne Riise finished with aplomb - straight down the middle.

Arsenal regained the lead back as Diaby scored, with Doni barely moving as his effort goes to the right.

And then..

Max Tonneto stepped up..

and he kicked..

and he missed and Arsenal are through after beating Roma on penalties!

The joyous and despair one. Almunia is all smiles while Tonneto rues his missed kick

Denilson, Walcott, Nasri and Sagna running towards Almunia after the goalkeeper sealed the match for the Gunners

All was good for Arsenal

A happy lot

RVP celebrating after winning

So there you go. All 8 quarter finals teams decided and my favourite team is one of them. Now all I hope for is that Arsenal goes all the way and win the cup for the first time. That would really make my already good year.

Arsenal Wins And Sorry, Datuk Lee Chong Wei

These are events that took place after I blogged 2 posts last night.

8.30p.m. - Finished blogging and felt really sleepy.
8.35p.m. - Decided to learn a new song on the piano to stay awake till Arsenal match starts.
9.00p.m. - Failing at learning the new song. Probably too sleepy. Even punished myself whenever I hit a wrong key.
9.15p.m. - Pressure amounts as I still can get it. Decided that I wouldn't watch the match as long as I do not get it right.
9.30p.m. - I finally got it right. What a time too!
9.35p.m. - Rushed to KTR with my new football 'kaki'. (It is amazing how Ma Lee actually loves it now.)
9.37p.m. - Saw the big screen showing BADMINTON!!! Argh! All because Datuk Lee Chong Wei was playing in the finals of The All England Open. -Sigh-

Sad chronology of events right? I tortured myself and yet I couldn't get to watch Arsenal.

But never mind. At this point, I just wished Chong Wei wins it quickly (or loses quickly????). But as usual, he kinda plays like he is not in the world. So 'lembik' and all. -Sigh- So anyway, he loses the first set and then I became evil. Since he lost the first, I wanted him to lose the second as well so that we could switch channels. 'Cause if he doesn't, they'll play the third and I will miss Arsenal's match! (But at least I had 'darling' telling me what is going on in the match. Arsenal were leading 1-0 and I missed that goal!) And he really lost. Sorry! But who cares. We then get to switch channels and I went on to watch Arsenal win 3-0!! Yay! My first Arsenal goals in about more than a month! Awesome!

Andrey Arshavin with Arsenal's mascot. A dinosaur. Lol

Eduardo Da Silva volleying the ball with the outside of his left leg and scoring too! Awesome goal

A joyous Eduardo

All is happy for the captain of the day

That is something you don't see often. Emmanuel Eboue celebrating a goal he scored himself.

All is well for Arsenal last night

I Did Not Get Lost!! Lol!

It has been more than a month since I actually went back to Melaka. Meaning it has been more than a month since I last saw my family. And although nothing much has change in them (they still adore and love me A LOT!! Lol), they said I have again..become thinner! Lol! (I have lost 7 kilos since coming to UTM!!)

So they came around 12.45p.m. and they brought me my favourite 'wan tan mee'! YUMMY!! Then we chit-chat till about 2 something afterwhich we went to JJ to restock my milk and 100 Plus supply (all on my mum..save my money..lol). I also almost got a new Esprit watch there but decided against it as my mum said it was a little too big for my wrist. -Sigh- Sad. Anyway, after buying stuffs, Matt wanted to go to Kim Gary's so badly. So we did. Thanks to 'darling' for lending me her member card. Save 10% service charge for my mum!

Then we hung around for a little while in City Square. Oh yeah. Which reminds me of the title of this post. I guided my dad there and we did not get lost! Yippee! I usually go there by bus. So I am like half asleep in the bus. But today, I have to guide and I was on target. I am a genius. Lol! Just kidding. (Don't even think of 'baling kasut' at me. Lol!)

At around 6 something, we came back and after I showered, my family had to go back already. Dad doesn't want to drive when it is entirely dark. So we said our goodbyes and Matt hugged me and he CARRIED ME. Good gracious. 16 years old boy carrying his old sister. Not that old actually. Just 5 years difference. But still..geez..either he has grown really strong or I have lost too much weight!!!

Anyway, that is a wrap. They are still probably on the road back home now and I am already missing them. Love ya, mummy, puppy and teddy bear!!

101st Post!! -I Might Be Getting Old For...-

As the title suggests, I think I might already be getting too old to vote for the Nickelodeon's KIDS' Choice Awards. -Sigh- But who cares? Lol!. Anyway, don't time flies? I remember voting for it year after year and now, I am not even a teenager anymore. I am probably a young adult or an adolescence perhaps. And I will be 21 in 5 months time! -Sigh- At least I will get my BIRTHDAY PRESENT, dearest papa. Lol!

So there are 18 awards and this is how my votes went:

1. Favourite Reality Show - I do watch ANTM and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader but it has got to be American Idol for me.
2. Favourite TV Actor - Not liking the Sprouse twins and not knowing the fourth nominee, I had to go with Jason Lee.
3. Favourite Cartoon - Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!!
4. Favourite Female Athlete - I never like the Williams sister and I wished there is Maria Sharapova to vote for. But I will just stick to last year's winner, Indy 500's Danica Patrick.
5. Favourite Book - Out of the 4 nominees, I have only read the Harry Potter series. So there lies my vote.
6. Favourite Movie - This is the first award that had me thinking. Bedtime Stories or The Dark Knight? After comtemplating..The Dark Knight it is. Rest in peace, dear old Heath Ledger. Getting the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor was just so right. He was awesome as The Joker.
7. Favourite Movie Actor - Gotta be funny man, Adam Sandler.
8. Favourite Movie Actress - This one had me thinking as well. I have always like Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. Whenever there are movies featuring these 2 together with Kate Hudson, they become my must watch movies. But this time, I will go with Reese Witherspoon. I just prefer Four Christmases over Marley And Me.
9. Favourite Animated Movie - Hmm.. Kung Fu Panda, Bolt, Wall-E and Madagascar 2: Escape To Africa. My vote goes to.. BOLT!!! Don't you just love Bolt's eyes when he was a puppy? I do!!
10. Favourite Voice From An Animated Movie - Gotta be Ben Stiller as Alex The Lion in Madagascar 2: Escape From Africa.
11. Favourite Male Singer - I don't have anyone to vote for in this category but I will go with Jesse McCartney.
12. Favourite Female Singer - I was torned between Miley Cyrus and Rihanna for this one but I went with Rihanna. Under my umbrella. Ella.. Ella.. A.. A.. Lol!
13. Favourite Song - Rihanna's Please Don't Stop The Music. I was once upon a time addicted to this song and still love it a lot.
14. Favourite TV Show - Hannah Montana. Don't really watch it but it is the best to vote for among the other nominees.
15. Favourite Music Group - This has got to be the toughest to vote for. It has Daughtry, Pussycat Dolls and Linkin Park. At the end, I voted for PCD but I think the one I hate will get it. The SUCKY and WHINNY Jonas Brothers. Yucky!!
16. Favourite TV Actress - Miley Cyrus. Who else.
17. Favourite Male Athlete - Definately Michael Phelps!! No one but him. 8 gold medalists in the most recent Olympics. Must be him. GOTTA BE HIM!
18. Favourite Video Game - I have no idea who to vote for actually. As I have no idea as to what those games are! Lol! But I think the Mario Kart Wii sounds like it is fun. So there goes my vote.

So there. My votes in all 18 categories. Lets see how many did I get right! Lol!

My 100th Post And Kolej Tun Razak Awards Night

My 100th post!!

I started blogging last October and I hit the big 100 with this post. Yay for me! Lol.

Ok. Now to the second issue.

Last night, my residential college's awards night was held at DSI and with the fees of only RM7, I knew that there was nothing much to expect, especially in the food department. Lol.

So we arrived rather early. We were there by 8p.m. and found out that we will only be served at around 10p.m.. Knowing that our friends' performances will only start after 9p.m., 'darling', PJ and I decided to head out for dinner first as we were growing more and more hungry as time passed. We ate at SUB and the food wasn't anything great. PJ's was the worst. She only managed 3-4 spoons before she felt like puking. And there were also 2 crazy kids (very dirty looking too) who came by and started to poke and hit 'darling'. Weird. And it drove 'darling' mad. Lol.

By the time we returned to DSI, the night had already begun (the singing of Negaraku and UTM school's song..typical). After 4 speeches by the organiser, my college's principal, Professor Madya Haji Mohamad Sharif, TJ and an 'adun', we were allowed to eat (rice with chicken and some sort of curry..don't know how they taste like as I did not really eat) and were greeted by the very first performance of the night. 6 little kids did 'zapin' and I find it pretty interesting. They were really cute too. This was followed by my friends' (Ting Ma Lee and Tay Keyin) instrumental performance. They played My Heart Will Go On.

Then a few awards were presented and they did 2 lucky draws. -Boring- With the exception of our very own coursemate winning the award I wanted to contest in. Yip Foon Yee or 'DIFFERENT block' bagged the Most Hopeful Female Athlete of KTR award.

After that, there was a nasyid performance (as usual) and this was the point, where a few of us began to feel sleepy. Later, the swearing in of the new Jawatankuasa Mahasiswa took place and out of about 40 of them, there were only 2 non-Muslims. Nicholas, my own coursemate and Tay Keyin. Then, the guests of honour left and the informal part of the night began. The MCs for this part of the night SUCKED big time by the way. Couldn't even speak proper English, they were REALLY LAME and one of them doesn't even know her numbers well.

The very first performance of the informal part is a cool drum performance. It drove PJ really excited to see this one. Lol. Then it was time for Ma Lee to perform again. This time in a band called Gula-gula Kapas Putih. They played the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee's Bunyi Guitar. Subsequently, the night turned from ok to horrible and terrible. I'll just give you guys the chronology of the events that followed.

1. More lucky draws
2. Awards presentation
3. Lucky draws AGAIN
4. Presentation of awards once more. Tay Keyin's block, K09 won the Best Block Award and suprisingly, my own block was nominated.
5. More bl**dy lucky draws

Then about 6 of my coursemates did Storm. A performance in which they hit their buckets with bamboo sticks. It was kinda unique and nice but it was also rather too short. Before one can really enjoy it, it was over.

Now back to the chronology of events.

6. Awards AGAIN!!!
7. More and more lucky draws (Most of us getting more and more annoyed by now.)
8. More awards were presented. Already the 5th time.

Then they announced the prince and princess of the night. I don't know who the prince is but the princess in my own coursemate, Iz. She wore a 'cheongsam'. (Badly wanted to stand in the crowd, I guess.) This was then followed by the closing act. Gula-gula Kapas Putih once again came on stage and performed a rather ok rendition of Bunkface's Situasi. By the time they were done, it was already 12.15a.m. and we were even asked to sing our residential college's song after that and then the moment we awaited for..

THE END OF THE NIGHT!!! YAY!!

Overall, the night was ok in the sense that my friends and I got together and we were one hell of some crazy people. It was fun and pretty 'sia sueh' at times. Lol. And the night was also not ok in the sense that it was badly planned and organised. -Sigh- Better next time!

My VERY Busy March

2 days ago, I was writing all the important dates on my table calender and the results is one bl**dy pack March for me. Don't believe me? Just look at the picture of my calender below.

The one and only circle in yellow (11th March 2009) is the date for my CATERING FINALS. FINALS, mind you. FINALS!! -Sigh- And as much as people keep telling me that it will be a walk in a park for me, I don't know 'cause I have never cook something on such an important occasion before! Lol

Now moving on to the orange cicles. There are 3 there as you can see and that means I will be having THREE FREAKING TESTS this month!
1. 13th March 2009 - Psychology of Personality test
2. 14th March 2009 - Statistics test 1
3. 28th March 2009 - Statistics test 2
See????! THREE FREAKING TESTS! Argh!! And I don't mind Psychology of Personality test 'cause I basically know what is gonna be tested. But STATISTICS??? Only God knows what Fisherman has been mumbling in front of the class all this while. -Sigh- I am doomed. I don't even know how to study Statistics. -SIGH!!!-

And now the 3 red circles. They have been there since forever and I don't mind them. They are the datelines for my assignments and as you all know by now, I am an assignment monster (together with my 'darling'). Lol. So I am all set for that. But red circle number 1 is also the day my group will be presenting our Ethnic Relations work and the presentation is worth 20%!! Geez!

Lastly, the pink circle. This is another headache. -Sigh- This pink circle (21st March 2009) is the date my group will have to do our stupid English For Academic Communication group discussion. -Sigh- Guess 'darling' and I will probably have to write the scripts soon. -Sigh-

See how busy my March will be? And it won't be a very nice April next month 'cause I will be having my finals then! -Sigh- I so need a break. Hopefully whatever my friends and I are planning stays and then I will have my break!

I Am A Cobbler

So my favourite pair of shoes has been looking really miserable since I played futsal with it last year (the soles of both sides is practically falling off from the shoes). So today, I finally give it another round of repair (and it is not that I am too cheapskate or can't afford a new pair but I just love this one so much as it is so comfortable to be in and not to mention that they are a pair of Reebok shoes!). So now they look like they met accident and they are still in the 'hospital ward'. Will be for a few more days.

Poor shoes eh? I couldn't get strings to tie them. So I found my alternative by tying them with plastic bags. Lol. But smart eh?

By the way, I have broken the news about changing roommates to my current one and as expected, she is not taking it well (she is not talking to me at all since and I'd expect she wouldn't bother to be quiet anymore whenever I am asleep from today onwards -sigh- but life will go on for me as I still have 9 great friends here including my 'darling'). I wouldn't give a damn actually but you know how sensitive certain people are and one can't actually blame them. Different people do have different unique personalities after all (I should know better as I am learning Psychology! Lol!). But I do have to break the news eventually and today with all the quota thingy, writing formal letters on who we want for our roommates and such, I just had to. And between not hurting her by being a hypocrite and just hurting her once and for all by telling her, I prefer the latter. But all in all, I just have to say:

"Once bitten, twice shy"
(you would understand if you know what happened last semester)

Violin Practice At DSI

Yesterday, I had a fairly ok day. It is only fairly ok despite having pizza for lunch (more like tea time actually) because it was pretty tiring at the end of it.

The day started with boring, boring Ethnic Relations class. Our lecturer hasn't mark our test papers yet but she has viewed my group's assignment and she was happy with it. I just have to give her coloured pictures instead of just black and white ones to make our work more interesting. But other than that, it is A-ok! So yay! One assignment is officially done and dusted!

After class, 'darling', Ma Lee, Siew Fen and I headed to DSI for their violin practice. I only tagged along because I had to go to JJ with 'darling' and some seniors after the practice. Had to get our Developmental Pscyhology textbooks. At DSI, we met Keyin and Hui Wen (2 Human Resource students whom we are friends with).

Anyway, after a while, I went over to the admin building to see TJ and it was good to see him after such a long time. And although I still haven't get my paycheck, I got more than what I went there for. Coincidently, my college principal wanted to see TJ halfway through my meeting with him. And prior to that, I was asking TJ if he could pull a few strings for me to get me to stay in KTR. So when my principal came in, TJ put kind words for me to get me to stay here in KTR and guess what?! Now I am 'valuable' to this residential college and on top of that, I get the principal's quota to stay here! Yay for me! (But I will still have to go rush and get the quota forms today and that is why I am blogging so early in the morning! I woke up at 7.30a.m. when there is no class to get it and they tell me it will only be out at around 10a.m.! Damn!)

Whatever it is, I am happy to have secured a place here in KTR. And even secured myself a new roommate! Will be ditching my current one for Ting Ma Lee and I think the 2 of us would make better roommates for one another. (She is having problems with hers and I am in the same boat too. -Sigh- Both of us have sucky roommates. Sad eh?) Haven't break the news to my current roommate though. Don't even know how 'cause I know she wants to be my roommate for all 3 years here because I could help her and stuffs but I am no babysitter. And after last semester, I know better! Sorry, mate!

Ok. Now back to the violin practice at DSI. Being there, I realised how good and talented my few friends are in playing musical instruments.

Keyin is pretty much a natural, I guess. She was playing with a whole bunch of different musical instruments there and it was kinda awesome.

Keyin and Hui Wen playing to The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Really funny act

Keyin the saxophone maestro

Now she is trying the violin

So there's one talented one.

Hui Wen wasn't so bad herself.

And now, my 3 Psycho buddies. Siew Fen is a 5th Grade piano student and I think that is brilliant. Ma Lee is even more awesome. She is an 8th Grade piano fellow and she also plays flute and some other stuffs. And 'darling'..she plays the keyboard and she too is awesome. And now this trio are trying out in violin and it's brilliant. All I know is how to play 4 simple songs with the piano. Lol. I am just so much of a sports person after all.

'Darling' playing Angela Aki's Tegami until I fell asleep. Don't get me wrong. It was good but I was tired

Ma Lee playing Can Can with a violin (I can play this with the piano!)

Now after all these practices, we waited and waited for the seniors to take us out and we waited till almost 3p.m.! By that time, I would have slept in the practice room and the library. Poor me. And I think my friends are kinda scared in waking me up. Probably because I wake up lagging and grumpy at times. Sorry, buddies! But anyway, at the end of the day, we had our books, pizza and it was all good. (Oh yeah. We had our stupid English class also and will be having it again today! ARGH!!)

Now that's a wrap! I wanna go get breakfast and head to get my quota!

Have a nice day, people!
