To All My Chinese Readers

That's 'Gong Xi Fa Chai' if you can't read Chinese. May the year of the ox brings more happiness, great success, good health and everything good in whatever you do.

Family Reunion Dinner

As usual, every year, my whole family will gather at my grandma's house for a reunion dinner. The food is delicious but nothing more could be said on them as they are practically the same food I had last year and the years before. Lol. But it was good in the sense that I did not have to eat any pork! Anyway, below are just some pictures of the food I had.

Yee Sang. Japanese yee sang. From Sushi King. Courtesy of my aunt.

All of us tossing the yee sang. Made a lot of mess with it.

The food. An overview of it.

My grandmother's specialty. Meat roll. YUMMY!!

Blur picture. But it is obscene animal - chicken.

Me no like. Fatty pork! My dad's favourite although he ain't suppose to take them.

All the greedy people around the table. From 12 o'clock clockwise Aunt Jenny, Uncle Verra (he is the editor of The Star. He writes a column every Thursday), Vinod, Uncle Bob, Matt, Aunt Kemmy (thanks for the yee sang), amah, beloved daddy and Uncle Denny.

That's a wrap.

So that is it. All 12 zodiac animals. Geez.. It was tiring typing all of that. -Sigh- Anyway, it certainly sounds like a good year for my fellow dragon classmates and me. But I am not sure if the same could be said for the 'younger' classmate of mine. You know who you are right? After all you are always reminding me how old I am compared to you. Lol. And for piggy.. hmm.. the year do not seem good for you too. But anyhow, these are all talking. Not necessarily true at the end of the day.

CNY Pictures!!

Here are some pictures on CNY that I have got so far.

CNY is the time to condone into child labour. Lol. Seen here is my beloved brother, Matt and cousin, Brinda. They were 'de-shelling' gingko.

MORE and MORE oranges are making their way to my house.

CNY = fatty time. Here are meat floss and 'bak kua'.

And now I'll show you the procedure in making 'kuih bahulu' or 'chicken eggs cake or 'kuoy neng kueh'

Firstly, this is the mixture of chicken eggs and sugar. Beat them for hours and this is the result.

And this is corn flour and flour.

Mix the two and you get this.

Then bake them here. This is the traditional way. Burn them with charcoal.

The charcoal stove.

And you get this! There are shapes of fish, rooster. prawn, CRAB, etc.

My family did this much. It was like they were preparing for a war.

And now some pictures of the decorations in my grandma's house.

And that's a wrap!

Can Anyone Eat More In One Spoon?

This is a post I have promised a LONG time ago. Finally I am able to post it. So enjoy! Lol

This is a friend of mine. Her name.. Lee Yin Ying or we'll just refer to her as Ah Ma. That's grandma in Chinese. The reason behind the nickname? Well, she eats really slow. REALLY SLOW. But she has that ability. The ability you just viewed. The ability to gobble down HUGE spoonfuls of food at a time. This particular event took place 2 Mondays ago. We had just dismissed from fisherman/carpenter's class at 7p.m. and rushed to get dinner. We only got our food at 7.45p.m. and our next class is at 8p.m.. So while I chose to just eat really fast (I finished my plate of noodles in less than 5 minutes!), she ate slowly. And when pestered to eat faster, she did that. Awesome huh? And there was this Malay guy who was seated on the table beside hers. He kept looking at her. Don't think he believes a sweet loooking young lady eats like that! Lol! Anyway, the question now is:

Can anyone top her?

Back In Melaka

I am now back in Melaka and so far, it has been good. Had a good afternoon sleep as well. 4 hours of sleep. Lol. Gonna have to go over to grandma's place soon though. I wonder if there are chores to do there since CNY is around the corner.

Anyhow, speaking of CNY, my mum's clients/car dealers are already pouring in the hampers and boxes of oranges. Some of them look pretty good too. I just hope there ain't any chocolates in them! Lol! But that's highly unlikely as hampers usually contains chocolates. -Sigh- Here they are anyway.

Some oranges. And they ain't they cheap type. Very generous car dealers.

One the hampers from a car dealer. This one doesn't look that good.

And another hamper. This one looks REAL GOOD. It has a bottle of wine, some seriously good looking cookies and my favourite, bird's nest!

More of them will be flooding in soon. Especially the oranges. -Sigh- Wonder how my mum and brother finish them up. I take practically an hour to finish an orange. (You'll understand why if you actually see me eating them.)

Hmm.. Saturday tomorrow and I expect a pretty busy day for me. There are lots of things I wanna do tomorrow. One of which is to bake cookies for my grandma and my greedy cookie monsters back in UTM! Wonder if I could even squeeze in some time to go shopping. Hmm.. Anyway, til then! Wanna go have my bath now and head to my grandma's place. Haven't seen her since Christmas and I bet she is eager to see me. Lol.

Oh yeah. In the world of sports, Arsenal's Eduardo Da Silva is ready to return to first team action soon. He played a full match against Stoke City for the reserve team last Wednesday. That is awesome news to hear since the injury he suffered a year ago was really horrible. And in tennis, Novak Djokovic advanced into the fourth round today.

Now that is it for real.

And Then There Were Only 5

Right now, there are only 7 of us here in K06. By 3p.m., there will only be 5. Everyone is pretty excited about CNY, I guess. To me, there's nothing much to look forward to actually. Anyway, the other 5 will be leaving tomorrow, including me.

CNY.. Nothing particularly interesting to me. Can't blame me if the celebration is the same every single year, can you? Lol.

It pretty much starts with my family and I going over to my grandma's place on the eve of CNY for a family reunion dinner. The food is pretty much the same every year. I can already picture the food and how they will taste in my head right now. After dinner, my cousin and I will just yak away until the clock strikes 12a.m.. Then wishes flow in and we head home.

The first day on CNY is pretty much like this. First event is going over to grandma's again and doing more wishing and collecting 'ang pao'. They are nothing much to look forward to actually. Being 21 this year and you still get RM5 from certain people. That is like giving you a plate of noodles and a cup of Neslo for lunch. -Sigh- My parents', though, are something I look forward too. Lol. Fat and heavy ones are from the both of them. Lol. Anyway, the rest of this day will probably be spent on a game of poker and blackjack, eating and pretty much nothing interesting.

The second day sees my relatives from KL joining us. And some of my uncle's extended family would visit too. And some family friends and such. And the rest is pretty much the same. -Sigh-

That's where I will drop this subject. It will be pretty much the same for the following days. -Sigh- Boring festival. And a VERY HOT one. The weather these days is killing me. And in my grandma's house? Geez! Even warmer. The thought of having to dress up when in my grandma's place scares me at times. Freaking warm. -Sigh- If only I could just wear shorts and T-shirt. Lol

Anyway, to everyone I know who is celebrating CNY, I wish you all a healthy and prosperous year of the ox. Have a good one!

Reunion Dinner

Yesterday, we, 12 crazy Psycho students went out for a reunion dinner of our own since Chinese New Year is just around the corner.

The day started with us waiting for our rental cars. That took about 1 and a half hours. Nice eh? (Still waiting for my 21st birthday eagerly, pa. Lol.) Then when the cars did come, one is pretty ancient.

Anyway, long story short, we arrived at Jaya Jusco Bukit Indah at around 5p.m.. There, we explored the whole building. There was Padini, F.O.S., Levi's, Hush Puppies, etc BUT no Esprit. CraBp was teasing me about it. And actually, I do wonder if Johoreans shop at Esprit. Since I came here, I haven't seen any Esprit outlet although I haven't been to every corner of Johor. -Sigh- After exploring the whole place (it looks huge but we finished the building by 6.30p.m.), we waited for some of the lost 'sheeps' and while waiting, we really looked like a bunch of kids who were forced to go to a shopping complex on a Sunday evening. Sad huh?

By 7 something, all 'sheeps' were reunited and we headed to a restaurant at Sutera Mall for our reunion dinner. There, we had steam fish (I ate most of it), fried chicken with lemon sauce, vegetables, eggs, beancurd and soup. The meal cost us RM136.30. It ain't expensive considering it's 12 people's share.

After eating, we went crazy taking photos. Then, a few of us played at the playground. -Sigh- CraBp and I though were facinated by 3 Arapaimas. (Arapaima is a REALLY HUGE freshwater fish. It is also the largest freshwater fish in South America. It usually grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) and in some extraordinary cases, 3 meters (10 feet) and can weight up to 180kg.) And for a huge fish, they are really hard to spot and the tank was not even huge. Weird. Anyway, upon finding it, I kinda touched it. I can't believe I did 'cause till now, they still look scary to me. To have a look at it, I have 2 links below. Sorry. Still having problems in uploading pictures and videos.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Arapaima049.JPG
http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/enlarge/arapaima-diver-megafish.html

Anyway, the outing was fun. And I will get the pictures we took from my friends and have them uploaded once I am back in Melaka for CNY holidays.

And by the way, due to yesterday's outing, I was so sleepy this morning that I yawned 44 times in a 2 hour class. -Sigh!!-

Anyhow, I am full now and I have another class at 5p.m. (fisherman/carpenter's class) and to avoid creating a new record in yawning, I am gonna head to bed now and sniff my Mr Beaver! Lol!

A Slight Delay

Regarding the exciting post I've mentioned about, I am afraid there'll be a slight delay before I can actually post it up. It requires me to upload a video and I am afraid I can't upload the video. Don't know if I did it wrongly or my connection to the internet is just that bad. Lol. Anyway, my sincere apologies.

Now lets turn to sports. Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal played last night. Liverpool's playing tonight. Anyway, all 3 teams left it late. Dimitar Berbatov scored United's winner in the 90th minute. Chelsea left it even later. Frank Lampard scored their winner in injury time. And Arsenal, they were ok. They won 1-3 against Hull City. Goals scored by Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Nicklas Bendtner.

And that is from me now. I am kinda out of words right now. Don't even know what I am feeling now.

To Ting Ma Lee

First of all, I have been meaning to have a picture of the person I have named above uploaded in this post but my internet is failing me. But anyway, to Miss Ting Ma Lee..

happy birthday Pictures, Images and Photos

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
You look like a tortoise..
And you walk like one too!

Just kidding alright? Lol

Anyway, you are a year older today! Lol. Although I am just 7 months away. Lol. But it is still SEVEN MONTHS. Or 212 DAYS. Or 5,088 HOURS. Or 305,280 MINUTES. Or.. 18,316,900 SECONDS. Lol!

Anyway, on this day, I wish you all the very best in life and have a good one!

Oh yeah.. Try to slow down on the Coke intake alright? Don't want you falling ill someday. Lol!

P/S: For tomorrow, I have an awesome post about one of my friends here. It is something to look forward to. So wait up for that. Or if I get over-excited, I might just post it up later. Lol.

"She Is Taller Than Me?" Or "She Is Taller Than I Am?"

Fear was yet again instilled in last night's English class and I really couldn't stop cursing my bloody English lecturer. And I also believe that students with a Band 5 and especially Band 6 (MUET - Malaysian University English Test) should be exempted from taking this class. If not, why the hell did we take it for besides it being one of the requirements to gain entry into universities? Geez.. This is purely a torture.

Anyhow, regarding my peculiar title, my lecturer keeps insisting that the latter is right and the former is indeed wrong and that we have been taught wrongly since forever! Lol. But I have looked up in the internet and both are right! Plus, I don't seriously believe that all of my previous English teachers were wrong! I have at least 9 of them before this bloody one and all of them can't possibly be wrong, can they?

In addition, this is my first prove.
Both "You are taller than me" and "You are taller than I am" are correct.
In the first case, me takes the objective form after the preposition than.
In the second case, we assume that than is a conjunction and therefore 'I am' is in the similar form as 'you are'.

Second prove is from the Microsoft system. Microsoft Word does not think that "She is taller than me" is wrong. I know it is just a software but it is being used by billions around the world and it can't be making silly errors right?

To me, both are right. Just that the latter sounds more formal. -Sigh-

Ok. I think I had better leave it there or I will curse her even more.

Also, yesterday I think I was cursed by a number of my friends. It is yet again regarding forming groups. This time for my bloody English class. And as much as my friends would like for CraBp and I to go in separate groups (we are 2 of the 3 English masters in class), we did not. They would like for me to stick with the 'downstairs' team and for CraBp to fan for the 'upstairs' team. But I defied them by just ditching all of them and joining the 'upstairs' team, which includes CraBp. So my roommate is disappointed with me. Can't say much here as she pretty much depends on me a lot. Found that out last semester and I basically couldn't care less anymore. And the rest of the 'downstairs' team just kinda think I have betrayed them but at least they are still in talking terms with me unlike my roommate. But who cares? I mean it is not like they own me and my English right? And I have very strong reasons to have taken this road. CraBp would understand, don't you now? Lol. And the only person that I am sorry to in all these crap is CraBp. Sorry if these 'downstairs' people start to curse you also.

Right. Now I will seriously stop talking about my English class.

On a brighter note, a friend of mine is gonna treat me today. That is something to look forward to right? Lol. So until then, I am just gonna crap some more stuffs on here. Lol. Till then, have a nice day, people. Oh yeah, if anyone is wondering why I woke up so early today, it is thanks to my roommate. She kinda made a hell of a noise before leaving for her hometown. -Sigh-

Finally

Last night, I finally got to meet my English lecturer and she is not what I've imagined her to be. But from the input I got yesterday, it is no longer pre-school English for sure. I could say that it is gonna be pretty tough but so long as I just stay cool, I guess it is still one of those subjects I can look forward to in getting my A's. Can't imagine if I don't. English speaking fellow since forever and not getting an A in English. Shameful me then. And my parents especially my mum would be furious. Anyway, that won't be taking place for another 3 months at least.

So in last night's class, she (my lecturer) was kinda trying to instill fear in us. She was telling us about failing her subject and not being able to graduate later. And when she started to tell us about the marking system, she started from B. Shows that she is not really aiming for A's among us. I am gonna try my best to defy her though. Lol

Anyway, for her class, we will have to do an impromptu speech. And from the way she had explained, group and individual assignments kinda sounds confusing. But I will just embrace them as they come by. Not gonna think too much about them for now.

Also, we had to present our partners in front of the class. Thankfully, I was sitting beside CraBp. And since I was so tired yesterday, I did not feel nervous at all. We were the second to present by the way. Found out that her previous school's name is freaking long. And I kinda told the class she craps a lot and she said the lecturer gave her an awkward look. Sorry CraBp. But as I was thinking last night about how I presented, I guess I have forgotten a few important points about CraBp. I left out how nice she is and how lucky I am to have her as a friend. Guess I will just have to wait for another opportune time to do so.

Oh yeah. Yesterday's class kinda gave me a slight headache too. We will have to form groups as usual and since it is an English class, I have at least 7 people approaching me after class and well, I have no idea who to pick. -Sigh- Guess I am just gonna leave that to CraBp to choose. Thanks ya.

I guess that is enough about my English class for now.

Yesterday, I also had my second catering class. The theme was 'Potatoes and Eggs'. It was pretty interesting but REALLY TIRING. My group had to cook 8 dishes in 3 hours. The lecturer probably thinks we are future cooks or so. Took it way too seriously. Was practically 'dead' after the class. Even fell asleep while waiting for the bus and also while in the bus. Kinda frightened Ah Ma too. And then I was kinda disoriented. -Sigh- Tiredness.

Anyway, I guess that is about it. Gonna have my second English class tonight and until then, I am just gonna laze around. Lol

I Am Mistaken, Mr Sigmund Freud

Today has been a really productive day for me. It was tiring as I had 4 classes today. Well, supposely 5 but I guess my bloody English teacher is dying or so as she cancelled our fifth class in a row. That's 10 hours gone and if she is gonna replace them, -sigh-. I haven't even met her til today. She'd better be dying or has a good reason behind all these cancelled classes.

Anyway, back to my productive day, I learnt a lot today.

Firstly, I would like to apologise to the late Sigmund Freud for cursing him last year on his theories. After really putting my heart and mind into reading and studying his theories in today's Psychology of Personality class, I realised that his theories weren't that bad and wrong after all. But I am still not a Freudian. Anyway, I kinda studied the 'Id', 'Ego' and 'Superego' pretty detailed and it has made me think and relate them to my own life and I think they do make some sense after all.

And he did not get his theories on psychosexual that wrong anyway. I remember my mum telling me that I stopped wetting my bed by the time I was 15 months. Shows basically how well-trained I am in toilet training right? So I connected that fact with Freud's and I believe they make good sense! According to Freud, children undergo the second stage of development, anal stage, between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. So I believe that fixation, a phenomenon that occurs if a child fails to fully resolve a conflict at a particular stage of development and get stucked at that stage, may have happened to me. Regarding the anal stage. Freud added that if a child has a low degree of self-control in toilet training at this stage, he or she grows up to be a messy and sloppy person. In contrast, a child who has too much self-control in toilet training will grow up into an overly neat and rigid person. And that is pretty much what I am and I was fully toilet trained by the time I even hit this anal stage! Ask any of my friends here and they'll agree with me and they haven't even know me for that long! Lol!

But I guess I am a weird kid or something. And VERY NAUGHTY. Lol. Here are some facts about me when I was way younger:

1. I never crawled. I started to walk when I was 9 months.
2. When I reached the age of 1, I became a devil. I would wake up around 2a.m. everyday and demanded that my mum would too. And what do I do? I play with my toys until 5a.m.. I just simply refused to sleep or allow my mum to sleep. And I didn't want my dad as my companion too. This lasted for 2 months. Sorry, ma.
3. As I said earlier, by the time I hit 15 months, I was fully toilet trained.
4. Some of my early words: adile (crocodile), ebra (zebra) and epent (elephant). This was when I was 3 and my dad took me to the zoo.

Well, enough about my childhood and Freud.

My second class of the day was 'fisherman/carpenter's' class, Statistics. One word. BORING!!! I listened to music while he was yakking nonstop. And texted CraBp when she was only behind me. It's free for us to text one another. So we were just making good use of it while killing time. Lol.

Next, I had a quiz in Islamic Psychology. Nothing much to say about it.

Then my friends and I went for our first French class! We also found out that we missed the first class. Stupid clerk gave us wrong info last week. But it's ok. We learnt numbers, days and months today and will be having our first quiz next week. Pretty fun but it is kinda hard at the same time. But Rome wasn't conquered in a day and so will I in mastering French!

And oh yeah. I also voted today. God knows who won though. As long as I've fulfilled my responsibility, that is fine by me.

So that is pretty much the end of my productive day. Right now, I am gonna finish my paper on 'Ways to Reduce Anxiety' which dues next Monday. Will probably require an hour or 2 on that and then I am gonna practice some French before calling it a night. :)

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2009

I was serving the net yesterday and stumbled upon this on Yahoo!. Most Anticipated Movies of 2009. Below are the titles, screening dates, a gist of what they are all about and the casts involved. Oh yeah. And my opinion on them too. Lol

3/6 Watchmen
Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson and Carla Gugino star in this adaptation of the famed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. (I have seen the trailer for this movie and I doubt it will be anticipating actually. It looks kinda dull and ridiculous and if trailers don't even excite you, will the movie?)

3/27 Monsters Vs. Aliens
Reese Witherspoon and Hugh Laurie star in this animated flick about a rag-tag band of mutants assembled by the U.S. military to thwart an invasion. (Hmm.. I have only seen the poster of this movie and the alien looks kinda cute. Lol. Anyway, I am a huge fan of Reese's and I am probably gonna watch this.)

4/3 Fast & Furious
Paul Walker and Vin Diesel partner up once again to fight crime and drive really fast. (Hmm.. Never watched any of this installments and probably won't watch this also. Not a big fan of Paul Walker although Vin Diesel is kinda ok.)

5/1 X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Hugh Jackman stars in this prequel to the X-Men trilogy exploring how Logan became the adamantium blade-wielding mutant Wolverine. (I loved and enjoyed all 3 previous installments of X-Men and both Wolverine and Hugh Jackman are my favourites. So I guess I am gonna catch this one too when it hits the big screen.)

5/8 Star Trek
"Lost" creator J. J. Abrams reboots the beloved sci-fi franchise in this prequel exploring the early days of Kirk and Spock. (Never was a fan and never will be.)

5/15 Angels & Demons
Tom Hanks returns as the "Da Vinci Code" cryptologist Robert Langdon to thwart a plot by the Illuminati to blow up the Vatican. (I have always love Tom. His movies are awesome. But "Da Vinci Code" was lame and dull to me. The book was way better. But the trailer to this movie looks cool. I guess I am gonna have to get permission from my dad to watch this or secret watch it. Lol.)

5/15 Bruno
"Borat" mastermind Sacha Baron Cohen is terrorizing an unsuspecting public again as a flamboyant Austrian fashion expert. (No comment on this. But from the sound of it, it sounds like a comedy to me.)

5/22 Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
When his favorite museum exhibits are accidentally shipped off to the Smithsonian, hapless museum security guard Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) infiltrates that fabled institution to rescue them. (I am a huge fan of Ben. He is really humorous. And the prequel of this is awesome. But sequel, at times, do not live up to its prequel. I am crossing my finger for this to me good.)

5/2 Terminator Salvation
Christian Bale stars in this film which is both a sequel and a prequel to the wildly popular time-travel/killer robot action franchise. (Have always love the Terminator francises and with Christian starring in it, would probably love this also.)

5/29 Up
Pixar follows up on their movies about gourmet rats and lonely robots with this flick about a grumpy old man and his balloon-powered floating house. (Always love Pixar and Disney. Have yet to watch a lousy animation from them and this will most probably not be the first either.)

6/5 Land of the Lost
Will Ferrell stars in this adaptation of the '70s TV show about three people who find themselves in a strange world populated by dinosaurs, monkey people, and reptilian Sleestaks. (Will Ferrell.. Hmm.. Sometimes he acts stupidly and at other times, he is funny. So I have no idea on this one.)

6/19 Year One
Jack Black and Michael Cera are two prehistoric losers in the middle of Biblical events in a comedy from director Harold Ramis. (Jack Black is full of laughter. Probably a good movie to catch.)

6/26 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox re-team with director Michael Bay for another action-packed battle between warring robots in disguise. (OMG! The first one was the movie of 2007 to me and I am expecting this to at least be as good or even better the first. I am really waiting for this one to hit the screens.)

7/1 Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Manny, Sid, Diego and Ellie are back in this third installment in the "Ice Age" franchise, featuring the voice talents of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah. (Don't know what crap are they gonna pull out of the hat for this third installment. The second was already a little dull for me but what the hell. Will probably also see the 'nutty' squirrel aagin. Well, maybe it might be good.)

7/1 Public Enemies
Johnny Depp stars as legendary bank robber John Dillinger and Christian Bale is the G-man on his tail in this true crime drama directed by Michael Mann. (Johnny Deep and Christian Bale.. Never gonna miss this one.)

7/10 2012
"Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow" director Roland Emmerich destroys the Earth again, starring John Cusack. (I have enjoyed both Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow and would probably love this too. I just hope the idea of destroying the world again won't be a lame one.)

7/17 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry, Hermione, Ron and friends return to Hogwarts and face Lord Voldemort again in this sixth installment of the series. (Whatever the ratings and reviews are for this movie, I am definately catching this one.)

7/31 Funny People
"Knocked Up" and "40-Year-Old Virgin" creator Judd Apatow writes and directs this drama/comedy about a stand-up comedians starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen. (Adam Sandler is one of my favourite comedians and he has never failed to make me laugh. And I doubt he will in this movie.)

8/7 G.I. Joe
A live-action extravaganza based on Hasbro's popular line of action figures starring Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid and Sienna Miller. (Will most probably leave this one out.)

8/21 Inglorious Basterds
After tackling kung fu action and grindhouse horror, writer/director Quentin Tarantino goes to war with Brad Pitt leading a team of Nazi-hunters. (Brad Pitt.. How can I say no to his movies?)

10/2 Shutter Island
Martin Scorsese directs Leonardo DiCaprio for the fourth time in a thriller about U.S. Marshalls pursuing a female escaped convict. (Martin is a huge director to me and Leonardo is an awesome actor. Most probably another good one to catch.)

10/16 Where the Wild Things Are
Director Spike Jones brings to life Maurice Sendak's classic children's book about a boy transported to a world of monsters. (No comment on this.)

11/6 A Christmas Carol
Jim Carrey plays Scrooge and all of the ghosts in a digital 3D motion-capture movie from director Robert Zemeckis. (I love both Jim Carrey and Robert Zemeckis. And it is a Christmas related movie. Gonna have to watch.)

11/6 The Fantastic Mr. Fox
An animated telling of Roald Dahl's beloved novel from director Wes Anderson ("Rushmore" and "The Royal Tennenbaums"). (Roald Dahl! One of my favourite authors although many would say I am already too old for his books. But nonetheless, he is awesome and I expect the movie adapted from his movie to be great.)

11/6 The Wolfman
Benicio Del Toro stars as a nobleman who, thanks to a werewolf bite, begins regular moonlit massacres of the local folk. (Sounds good but werewolf movies are getting common.)

11/20 Sherlock Holmes
Robert Downey Jr. brings the legendary London sleuth to life, with Jude Law as the faithful Dr. Watson and directed by Guy Ritchie. (Don't know much about this but probably gonna catch it also.)

11/20 New Moon
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart return as Edward and Bella for the second chapter in the "Twilight" series. (Nah.. I'll pass.)

11/28 The Lovely Bones
The adaptation of Alice Sebold's bestselling novel about a the murder of a young girl, directed by Peter Jackson. (I love Peter Jackson and this sounds good.)

12/18 Avatar
James Cameron directs this 3D sci-fi action epic that features ground-breaking, eye-popping special effects. (Never watch the series on Nickelodeon but CraBp would be happy to see this. And it sounds kinda good too anyway.)

12/25 The Princess and the Frog
Disney presents its first traditional hand-drawn animated film in five years with a fairy tale set in New Orleans during the Jazz Age. (I can never say no to Disney's cartoon.)

Well, that is it. From the looks of it, I am probably gonna spend a lot on movies this year. -Sigh- But it is always good to watch movies, ain't it? Especially after a week of horrible lessons in school! Lol! So here's to breaking the bank for most anticipated movies of 2009! And my only hope is they don't disappoint me! Cheers, people!

Politics.. They Are Everywhere

As the title suggests, my university is undergoing some serious campaigning now. The Students' Representative Council or more recognised as Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) is having the elections tomorrow and the people running for it are getting rather annoying.

Firstly, when it comes to getting anywhere these days (including passing by bus stops), I have to look out for hanging posters or get slammed into one or more. They don't hurt but they aren't exactly clean and it is pretty irritating. Almost every part of the university where students normally walk pass or hang out is tattered with their posters.

Secondly, they interrupt classes. Every now and then, a runner would come in and talk us into voting them. Giving us their fake promises. Seriously. Even the real politicians can't exactly fulfill their manisfesto. Them? -Sigh-

Thirdly, as if interrupting your class is not enough, they even interrupt your sleep, movie, resting time, etc by coming to your room for further campaigning.

And one of the fellow men running for it couldn't even speak properly. He was pretty much stammering all the way. Wonder what we could expect from him. Couldn't even deliver his campaign speech convincingly. But I have to give him credits for his guts though. Nevertheless, I also think everyone thinks they can run for this MPP thingy. -Sigh-

Anyway, it will all be done and dust by 5p.m. tomorrow. And to me, there is only one true winner and loser from all these campaignings. The winner is the shops offering photostating services. They probably earned like mad. And the loser..well..the janitors as they have to clean a lot these days. All the flyers and posters. -Sigh- Poor janitors and innocent trees. As if we need to waste more papers.

Right. Enough of MPP. In the world of sports, Manchester United demolished Chelsea 3-0 at Old Trafford this morning. Goals from Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov saw the Red Devils climbed up to third place, only a point behind Chelsea with 2 games in hand if I am not mistaken. Moving on to tennis, 2 of my favourites made the headlines. Firstly, Novak Djokovic blames his racquet for his poor form. What a loser. And secondly, Maria Sharapova, the defending champion of Australian Open, has pulled out from the tournament due to her shoulder injury. How sad to hear that. -Sigh-

And with that, I shall end this post. I got to study for my quiz tomorrow. Man don't life sucks huh?

The Problem With Not Having A Car

The problem with not having my own car while I am away from home is having to rely on the public transport to get to the places I want to. And they are not punctual. And not mentioning dirty? I mean every Tom, Dick and Harry in school use the bus. So you can imagine the amount of germs in the bus.

Anyway, today I experienced another public transport mishap. My friends and I went out to Jaya Jusco (JJ) for some shopping and then dinner. We were done by 6.30p.m.. So we headed to the bus stop to wait for our only mode of transport back to UTM. Ok.. I am exaggerating here. There are always taxis but they don't come free, do they now? So the school's bus is still the only mode of transportation as far as I am concern. Anyway, we reached our hostel at 8.30p.m.. That is like a 2 hour delay right? And how far is my hostel from JJ? Hmm.. Just about 10 minutes away. So why so long right? The bus! What else?! 2 hours of my life wasted on waiting for bus. And to make things worse, the stupid and mindless taxi drivers were smoking their lungs out at the bus stop. Puffing smoke from their cancer sticks. -Sigh- I need my birthday to come sooner. Not that I wanna get older faster but I just want my dad's promise to become a reality sooner. Then I will finally be able to go anyway I want without delays. And then I just have to think about finding parking spaces.

Anyway, I am off now on a mission. Believe it or not, some of my friends here are watching Jumanji for the first time in their lives now and I am gonna be their spoiler. Just Soo Chen's actually. Lol! Man that movie is already ancient to me.

Another Boring Day

To my prediction, today is gonna be yet another boring day. I don't even know if it is good to have weekends these days. Guess I am just gonna spend it on movies and TV shows.

And I might even have a quiz on Tuesday. Bloody Islamic Psychology class. I haven't even grasp the subject and he throws a quiz in. And he specifically said "NOT OPEN BOOK" on his blog. Damn!

Oh yeah. Liverpool drew again this morning against Stoke City. So I am hoping both Chelsea and Manchester United will too. Benefits Arsenal all the way.

Man, I am bored!

Arsenal Won!!

Yay! Arsenal won thanks to a late strike from substitute, Nicklas Bendtner! At least Arsenal made my effort staying up late worth it. Now I am off to sleep and I hope when I wake tomorrow, my tongue has recovered from a minor burn. -Sigh- I kinda burned it during dinner. Stupid warm food! Feels so uncomfortable.

And oh yeah. I really miss my piggy. Heart's aching for my piggy already.

Clueless and A Little Confused

I have been wondering about this and I still don't get it. Why would a lecturer who is not teaching me this semester would want all of my previous semester's notes and assignments? And it is not just his that he wants but he wants my work and notes of all 6 subjects I took last semester. It is Dr. Haji Hamdan if you are wondering. He called me at 10.45p.m. last night asking for it. And I was already dreaming away by that time! Anyway, I asked TJ about it and he seems to know that Dr. Haji Hamdan had requested the notes and assignments. Weird!

Anyway, Arsenal is gonna play Bolton tonight at The Emirates and I believe that if Arsenal plays well and takes their chances, they should be able to knick past Bolton. But I am wary of Bolton's away record. This season, they hold the second best record away from home (first is Chelsea). -Sigh- I just hope Arsenal will stop screwing up already!

And by the way, today has been a VERY BORING day to me. But very productive at the same time. I kinda finished all the work TJ gave me yesterday in a day! And burned the stuffs Dr. Haji Hamdan wanted also. And not forgetting photostating the remaining notes. Hmm.. I have to remember to collect them later. -Sigh-

-Sigh- Still wondering. Anyway, til then!

What's The Bloody Point...?

I don't get why we (mainly non-Muslims 1 SHY students) have to study Islamic Psychology. It is purely a great deal of torture to me and I think to most of my non-Muslim classmates as well. I had that class today and I must say that I could have died of boredom and from not understanding what the hell was being taught to me. The lecturer was a good one. No offense. He did a great job last semester (although I still don't understand how I got an A- from him). But the subject, lesson and content of the lecture are really meaningless to me. Plus, most of the terms used are in Arab (I can't even remember any of them now if I wanted to put them on here). Pronuncing them is already tough enough for me. Let alone spelling them come my finals in April. My lecturer said that is because Arab terms are not easy to translate. What the hell?! Because of that, those who can't understand, read and even pronunce Arab should suffer? And in truth, I don't get why I have to even learn 'pillars of Islam', etc. Islam in Psychology, I may understand but learning about the religion? They are really meaningless to me. No offense and I am not subjected to racism here but really, what is the bloody point? I ain't enrolled in the university to get preached on Islam. I know it is a beautiful religion and it is a good way of life but it just doesn't make any sense. I enrolled in a Psychology course and I expect to be taught relevant subjects. Not some time wasting subjects that goes in and out of my brain in the matter of seconds.

P/S: I am not subjected to racism or whatsoever. Whatever said on here are merely my opinions and thoughts. If any inconvenience and anger is brought up in my readers, I am truly sorry. Thank you.

Tag Once Again (by 'What I've Been Looking For' -CraBp-)

Rule 1: People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

Rule 2: Tag 5 people to do this quiz and those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by continuing this game by sending it to other people.

1. Do you have secrets?
Who doesn't?

2. Would you fall in love with a boy younger than you?
Well, that depends. Age is just a number to me. So if I like him a lot and he is mature enough for a relationship and likes me back, what's stopping it?

3. Do you enjoy going to college?
I have no idea. Already skipped pass that.

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
A lot. Whatever I always wanted to but couldn't due to not having enough money.

5. Will you fall in love with your best friend?
Nope.

6. What do you prefer? Touching story or happy story?
I would like one that features both better.

7. List recently watched movies.
Bedtime Stories (Bugsy.. Yikes!)
The Spirit (Damn movie!)

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Forget him and move on to another target.

9. Are you happy now?
Not really.

10. Do you have any regrets?
Again, who doesn't?

11. What is/are your favourite emoticon used recently?
Lately? Umm.. Just :)

12. What is/are your favourite saying recently?
Hmm.. For quite a while it has been 'stupid until can die' in Chinese! Lol. But recently, haven't had one.

13. What kind of person do you think the person that tagged you is?
CraBppy, funny and really nice. ('What I've Been Looking For' apparently..)

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
I would like to be married and rich but between the two.. Single and rich.

15. What is your favourite color?
Blue. All pretty shades of blue. And occasionally, white and black.

16. Would you give all in a relationship?
It kinda depends on the guy I am with.

17. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, which one would you choose?
The better one? The one that loves me more? But the thought of loving two guys at once is pretty dreadful.

18. What are the top 5 places on your "to-go" list?
New York
Florida
Paris
Spain
London

19. What do you think of the person you like?
99.9% perfect!

20. 5 people I wanna tag!
Sandra Wong
Sourish Karmakar
Sheryl Tan
Joanne Khan
Tan Yin Fung

Time Is Important?

People always tell you that time is important. That one should always make full use of one's time in the best way possible as time waits for no man. But here in UTM, the scenario is totally different. Why do I say so? There are a few solid reasons behind that.

Firstly, we did nothing in the first week. Basically all the classes were pretty much like this. You wake up early and you prepare for class. Then you rush to get the bus. And the next thing you know, it is either the lecturer is missing, class cancelled, the lecturer sucks or it is just another hello-students-I-am-(name of the lecturer)-and-take-attendance class. -Sigh-

Secondly, it is the second week now and still we have our classes cancelled. Just yesterday, we got our lazy butts up from the bed to get to class and guess what? First, some stupid lecturer came into our class and found out he wasn't gonna teach us after talking for 10 minutes. Then, the real lecturer never showed up. Apparently, he just got back from Haji and was not able to teach. Is that how it works? Go be more pious in the holy land and then return home more lazy? Total crap! And to make things worse, he screwed up again today! Did not show up again! I guess once you get the word 'Haji' to your name, it gives you the rights to be lazy and not show up for classes.

Thirdly, for this particular class alone, which is English class, it has already been cancelled for the fourth time. That is 8 hours gone! Damn lecturers.

Man, I really do sound mad. -Sigh- Anyway, on the positive note, I no longer have classes on Thursdays and Fridays. All the classes are cramped into the first 3 days of the week. I even have class until 11p.m. on Mondays! But it's cool. At least I still have 4 days off after 3 hectic days.

Also, this semester I am taking 19 credits. Man, that's pretty heavy. 16 for my course, 1 for KOKU and another 2 for my French class. And my subjects this semester looks dull. Really dull and TJ isn't teaching. -Sigh- Take a look at my subjects.

Islamic Psychology - What the hell???!
Developmental Psychology - The one that ends at 11p.m. on Mondays. But the lecture yesterday was enjoyable.
Psychology of Personality - It doesn't sound bad at all BUT the lecturer is ('the goat' again) and I am getting really sick with his English!
Statistics - Maths all over again? -Sigh-
Ethnic Relations - HISTORY!!!!! -Boring!!!-
English for Academic Communication - Some say this is a free A for me. So my only hope is please..no more preschool English here!!!

So that is pretty much it. And as I said earlier, I have enrolled myself in French class. CraBp and Hyper did too. Oh yeah.. Sampat also. And my KOKU is Catering! Yay! I get to cook! Lol

And I think I am getting sick. It has been weird for me. First, I had imsomnia. Then, followed by lethargic and lost of appetite. Man, what the hell is wrong with me? -Sigh- But I guess it is pretty much under control, I think. -Sigh-

Anyway, I have said what I want to and I am off to bed now. I have class at 8p.m. till 10p.m. tonight! -Sigh- Hopefully it is a good one.

P/S: This is only a way I vent my frustrations. If anything I have said on here offended anyone, I am sorry and it wasn't intended to. Thank you for understanding.

Til then, have a nice day, people!!

Hometown And Broadband

Back in hometown again and this time with my friends. CraBp, Fishball, 'Old Man' and Hyper. Lol. All nicknames. Anyway, been back since Thursday and it has been fun. A whole day of outing on Friday and ended it with barbaque and today another whole day outing. Even longer outing. Just got back a few minutes ago actually. Going back tomorrow though.

I also find out something. Cooking needs good mood. I was cooking my spaghetti for them and I think it sucks and they probably said it was good just to not hurt my feelings. But it was bad. To me at least. Everything I did was the usual except my mood. Feeling lethargic, having problems sleeping and a bit problem in eating. Wonder what is wrong with me.

And before I go off, I already have broadband!! I am so happy. Probably get to online every single day back in UTM. Haha! Til then, night!!
