Laziness

I should really get back to blogging since my site is growing moldy but I am just so lazy. Hmm.... -Pinches own self- I think I'll start with a Michael Bublé post. And yes, I am referring to his concert way back in March. Lol

Double F's - Fishes and Fruits

My house is turning into a fish and fruit sanctuary, I think. Don't believe? Well, let my pictures tell you the story.

Fighting fish. Not a very good picture. But if you see them in reality, you'll notice how beautiful they are. Oh yeah. They are all bred by my dad.

Fighting fish breeding tank. There are easily hundreds of them in this tank.

The one tank which is in the house. Zebra fish, more fighting fish and angel fish.

Top view of the aquarium.

My daddy's baby angel fish! They are so cute!

It's them again.

Them again, swimming in their tank.

Tiny mango tree but already growing fruits.

In the backyard, this huge banana is growing.

In the house, there are some more bananas, from another tree. And pineapple and cempedak.

What did I told you eh? And that is not all. We also have a papaya tree and so many other fishes!

My Latest Treasure!!

I know this is a bit delayed but I was caught up with some work and bad internet. -Sigh- Everywhere I go, I am stucked with stinking internet connection. Anyway, I'll tell you guys (and girls) about what I am up to now and stuffs in a separate post. My purpose in this blog is to tell you about my new TREASURE! =) (More or less brag actually. Haha!)

So the world is slowly saying goodbye to the phones with keypads today and is welcoming the touch screen ones and that is what I got! A NOKIA X6 to be specific. Awesome eh? It is the latest phone Nokia, me thinks. =) Yippee! It is an early birthday present actually. Thanks, mummy!

Nice eh?

Phone specs: Camera - 5MP. Memory space - 8GB (no memory card slot). TOUCH SCREEN of course. =) What else eh? Idk what else to say. But it is an awesome phone.

Oh yeah. And darling got herself a touch screen phone too! Nokia N97 mini (meanie. Lol). That is awesome. Phone specs are almost the as mine. So we are both very bahagia people now. Also, Matt, my manja little brother also has a touch screen phone! His is Nokia 5800. He got his first and then helped me get mine. Good brother ain't he? And no, he is not up for kidnapping! Lol

So that is about all from me now. I promise to get an update on my life (not that anything interesting is happening and not that you care but I do wanna write anyway) soon. Till then, take care, readers! = Ah.. I am still so happy over my phone. =)

Mere Coincidence

Hmm.. I did not actually realise this but guess what? In year 2009, I blogged 209 posts. Lol.

See the red circle? =) (Click on the photo for zoom in or scroll down to see in on the page itself)

What I Think The Dinosaurs Are Up To Usually During The Holidays

The title pretty much tells you what this whole post is about. So there is absolutely no point of me repeating the same here unless you are one of those silly fellas who do not read the title of an article before you proceed to the content (I know a few people who are like that). Anyway, lets for a second think you have brains in that skull of yours. =p

So first and foremost, Little Foot (me that is). Little Foot spends more her time, sleeping. She is really like a pig on school breaks. I must say that school breaks are like hibernation time for Little Foot. And there is online too. So I think it is pretty much sleep and online. More of the first. Lol. Right! She also watches illegally downloaded series on her laptop.

Hmm.. Little Foot sounds really boring. Get a life already, Little Foot! Lol.

Next is Ducky. Ducky visited Little Foot yesterday (it wasn't visiting per se but hack. Saves my time in telling a long story). Both and Ducky's family went to the new Jusco shopping mall in town. They had fun. =) Anyway, Ducky's holiday is probably spent doing pretty much nothing as well. She would love worrying and being overly kepoh though perhaps. Lol. Just kidding. I guess online is the thing she does most.

Yet another boring dinosaur.

Third is Cera. Hmm.. Like Little Foot, Cera is also a 'pirate'. She downloads illegally and watches the shows. She also probably spends her time helping her mother and brother here and there with his arts stuffs. She doesn't hibernates but she spends a lot of her time online for sure. Her only way of communicating to GDW (besides using the underfed and under-cared-for owls). What else eh? Busy manja-ing. Busy being manja-ed. Lol. And she 'bangs' keyboard (that tells you how well she "plays" right? Lol! Just kidding. She plays ok. She just likes saying she 'bangs' instead of 'plays' the keyboard which makes it sounds all wrong). Oh yeah! Texting Little Foot. Lol. So that is another thing Little Foot does too. Lol. And I guess that is it for Cera. Wait! Wait! Cera maids at home also. Lol!

Moving on is Chomper. This dinosaur gets really busy when she returns home to her 'jungle' in Sibu. It is a jungle there because there is absolutely no internet connection there. And DiGi pretty much hates that place too. The 'yellow man' probably doesn't visit there very much. Anyway, Chomper gets really busy during school breaks. She hangs out in her 'princess's' sundry shop a lot (getting free Coca-Cola there probably) and she goes on countless of dates. With her high school friends. And she gets pampered by her mother's cooking also. No vegetables. Nothing spicy. Just CHICKEN and CHICKEN EGGS. Lol. Oh yeah. She probably spends time helping her father with the ferry business. Hmm.. How about Tong Moo Lu eh? Haha. That's just a joke (which not many would get but lets just leave it that way).

Hmm.. For a change, this dinosaur seemed to have more fun.

Next is Spike. Hmm.. This one probably spends a lot of her time helping out her family at their sundry shop. Selling and eating anchovies. Lol. Yup! The dinosaur eats raw anchovies. She probably spend a little time playing her piano as well. She doesn't gets online at all though. Like Chomper. She probably visits her grandmother also. And I don't know what else Spike does. Eat leaves perhaps. Lol.

Lastly, Petrie. This one is the easiest. Petrie spends her whole holiday glued to the television set. You don't see her online and it is almost impossible to reach her on her cell phone. Because she eats and sleeps TV. One TV program after another. And surprise, surprise, she DOES NOT have Astro (thank God). So I really have no idea what Petrie watches. Yet, she is one hack of a TV slave. She even eats in front of the TV perhaps. So that is Petrie. 24/7 with her TV shows.

And that is perhaps how I think the dinosaurs kill their time when they are all back home. All in all, Little Foot is perhaps the laziest of them all and Spike and Cera are the most helpful ones. Ducky, Idk what to say. Chomper's terribly busy and Petrie's just another TV addict.

Hmm.. Little Foot's done with this now. Perhaps she should sleep again soon. Lol!

Malaysian F1 Circuit, Sepang

You know how every curve of an F1 circuit has a name? If you don't, then let me tell you that they do indeed! Not all but mostly at least. Lol. Anyway, for Sepang Circuit, the names are depicted in the photo below.

I don't know about you, readers but I find it truly lame! And if you don't believe me, go check out the other circuits (I have an example below). Their curves are named after great drivers, car manufactures, etc. Unlike ours. Geez. Get creative already!!!

Australian circuit - Most of the curves are named after Formula One greats.

BUT don't go asking me if I know what it takes to name the curves alright? License for permission to use names, etc. Because I DON'T KNOW. And I am MERELY STATING MY OPINION here. =)

I Woke Up Having Cold Sweat

"I was driving and I was supposed to pick my grandmother up at the beach. Why she was there was still unsure to me at this moment. When I got there, the place looks horrible. I saw my grandmother and got down from the car. And what she was doing terrified me. She was trying to cover up easily 100 dead bodies. I asked her what is she up to. She told me there was a tsunami and she wants to hide the bodies. I wondered why and questioned her doings but she said to just let her and I did.

I waited in the car because the smell of the rotten bodies was getting to me. I felt like puking.

I waited some more until she was done. Not long after, she came. I asked her over and over again if she had left anything at the site. It was like I was making sure she did not leave any prints or evidence behind. It was like she killed those people back there. She was sure but I wanted to be very sure. So I drove her up to the site and switch the carlights to the double lights and she looked around and was positive about not leaving anything behind. It was then that I noticed that there was a police patrol car by the side of the road. I tried to remain calm. I don't know why I had to. It is not like we killed anyone.

I drove back in silence. Only spoke once in a while to question my grandmother's actions. I still wondered why she had to cover up those bodies. I asked her to go over to the police to tell of the incident but she refused. It is weird though that no one else seems to know that tsunami hit that beach.

We reached home eventually. The next morning, we would go to the beach again. But the beach would look so different now. There would be shophouses at the part of the beach which is supposed to be the sea. But the bodies were still there alright. We were there to jog.

We jogged from the death site to another end and again, I asked my grandmother to go to the police. Yet again, she refused. I knew that I was beginning to get on her nerves. But I have to try convincing her that telling the police is the best thing to do.

After one round, we saw many police patrol cars rushing into a part of the beach. Grandmother panicked and was soaked in sweat. I was too. I couldn't tell why though. Thankfully, it was not the death site they were after.

They had found another body. A body of a pretty tanned looking man. He was huge too. He had cuts on his body. Probably a victim of the tsunami. Coroners came and check him up. Then they bagged him and left. I saw all that together with some other nosey people. Again, I felt like puking. The smell was just horrible.

While they were bagging the man, I left the scene for a bit. I spoke to a female Indian officer. She was as old as my grandmother and was still on the force. Amazing. She asked what was I doing and I panicked at that question. I asked her to repeat her question and when she did, she only wanted to know what I was currently studying. I told her and when I was getting around what my grandmother did, they were done with the body and she had to leave.

Grandmother and I left for home. And suddenly, I knew what happened on the beach that day. (This is probably where this nightmare gets crappy and funny). "I remember I was cycling. On the way back, I stopped at Ili's house. We talked for a bit. Her house was huge and terribly messy. A rat could go in and lost its way in there. Then I continued to cycle to the place my family was having a picnic. Halfway there, the water level rose. It was scary and I was already cycling in the water. I don't know how it is possible but I did. When I reached the site my family was, I noticed they did not look like my family at all but they actually are.

They were some sort of pirates. Dancing and singing away. It is like I was in Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyway, I tried to convince them that a huge wave was coming in but the refused to listen. All of them would die and I would be the only one surviving the wave."

Grandmother and I reached home again. To my absolute horror, the bodies were stacked on my grandmother's bed now. It was horrible. I asked her why they were there but she couldn't answer. All I knew was that she was hiding something. Something I couldn't get her to spill.

I left and returned the next morning. I was still sleepy and of all places, she made me sleep on her bed. With the bodies. I obeyed for some unknown reasons. After kicking some of the cold, rotten bodies, I gave up trying to sleep. It was horrible. I ran out of the room and I threw out.

And then grandmother decided to hang those body up behind Uncle Bob's room door. Again, I have no explanation for this action of hers. But I do remember that their bodies would fall down and only their undergarments would remained hanging.

Soon, Aunt Jenny came by and she pinched my chin a lot. Matt said mum likes that too and I laughed my first laugh in days. We then sat outside the house, talking. Matt seemed to be missing at this point but grandmother joined us. After a while, I keep giving signals to her to let me fill Aunt Jenny up. She agreed and I pulled Aunt Jenny into Uncle Bob's room immediately and showed her the back of the door.

"Why are there so many bras and underwears?" she asked. That was pointless to answer at the moment. I asked her to look down and what she saw astonished her.

She commanded us to bring the bodies to the garden. We did and she then attempted to get rid of the bodies by spraying high pressure water against them. I guess she was hoping the pressure of the water would break the body tissues from the bones and then go into the ground. She did it with Joycelyn, a cousin of mine.

It was then that a police patrol car had to pass. I told grandmother to get a cloth to cover up the garden. She hesitated. I do not know why. Eventually, they left but turned back and stopped right in front of the house and came in. I ran straight into the house, stumbling as I reached the kitchen. I gasped for air as I fell on my knees and puke some more. The smell of the bodies and fear was taking a toll on me. Matt comforted me but it wasn't enough.

I then went out to see the cops. There were already so many of them and they were investigating the bodies and questioning grandmother. She was very calm. One officer then came up to me and interrogated me. I told them everything I knew, including visiting Ili as I thought I needed an alibi and about the tsunami. Everyone was skeptical about the tsunami. I guess no one knew. I was told to get Ili. Brinda, who was now a police officer called her but no answer. I was given time to get her.

So I went to her house and then called Brinda from there. Strangers In The Night by Frank Sinatra was her caller ring tone. I felt happy hearing it and I wondered if I could call her for fun to hear it."

Then I woke up. Covered in sweat. Cold sweat. -Phew!!!- It was only a nightmare. A really horrible one but it was not reality.

It's funny how things was so crappy in the nightmare but I couldn't tell I was dreaming. I am glad I did though.

And although it may sound really crappy to all my readers, let me tell you that I was terrified in my sleep and when I woke up, I still was and I still am when I was recalling this.

The Start of Another Semester

Having said that, I have to mention once again that TIME FLIES!!! Really fast. It felt like it was just last week that I got my university acceptance letter and it felt a couple of days ago that I was in Kuching having a great deal of a good time. And it felt like it was only yesterday that I finally got back home and I now back in school already, starting my not second, not third but FOURTH semester. Like I said, TIME FLIES and soon I would be graduating before I know it. -Sigh-

Anyway, today I got back to my REALLY DUSTY room and luckily for me, Yen Pin was in a really helpful mood that she assisted me a lot (THANKS, darling!!!!). There was just so much to clean since my roommate is returning a day later than I did. So there were 2 cupboards to clean (keep in mind that one was filled to the beam with stuffs!!!), 2 sets of tables and chairs to wipe clean, 4 panels of windows to wash, a ceiling fan and light to dust and the whole floor to sweep and mop. So with all of that to complete, I took more than 2 hours to finish even with a 'maid' around (LOL..just kidding darling). But after everything is done..voila!!! I am so happy. Lol. Now the fan's clean, the cupboards are set, the tables and chairs are dust free and the window..amazingly clean (guess I learnt some skills from my professional window cleaner brother).

After all the cleaning (and sneezing), I headed to a long nice shower (although the yuckiness of the bathroom pissed me off!!!) and then more chores! Washing of my dusty clothes, afterwhich May Peng, Siew Fen, darling and I went for dinner (we had problems thinking of what to eat already -sigh-). Then we did grocery shopping (cow needs her milk..lol). After that, Yen Pin and I watched Desperate Housewives (now she is miserable too as the part at which the last episode of the year stopped at it horrid and it drives me nuts thinking about it -argh!!!-). And now I shall watch soccer before I head to bed. What a day! -Phew!!!!-

Meet Liu Bolin, The Invincible Man

Crappy title right? But rather catchy at the same time 'cause I know with a heading like that, you are not gonna resist yourself from reading this post. Lol.

Liu Bolin is a man from Beijing, China. Liu can really do the invisible act. And no, he is not a magician. He is simply an artist - painter.

So exactly how does he go invisible? By painting himself to fit into his drawing or just any background he chooses to.

So I now present to you, some of his disappearing acts in the images that follow.

And if you can find him, go back up and look at the photos again 'cause he really is in all of them. I find the last one the most difficult. :)

Professional Window Cleaner Anyone???

As usual, as Christmas looms closer, my brother and I would have the "privilege" to clean the house. Lol. Dusting, wiping and today, annual window cleaning session (it has been a yearly affair for him and I since forever). Anyway, this year, we decided to really put our hearts into cleaning the upstairs window well too and that is when I know that Matthew actually has what it takes to be a professional window cleaner. Below are images of him cleaning the ones in our bathroom. It ain't easy as it is a little high up and there's grill. But I guess it's in him.

And did I mention that when he was way younger, he used to enjoy this so much because he got to play with the viper thingy that he said he wanted to work for JJ's KFC to wipe windows (JJ's KFC has many huge windows). Lol!

Cocos Nucifera

Ok. I bet no one knows what that is unless you are some sort of Science geek. Lol. It is in fact coconut actually. Hehe. Anyway, in this blog, I am attempting to share the usefulness of this plant. Trust me, in these few months, I have found that this plant is so terribly useful. Lol.

So here is how the plant looks like to those of you who has never seen a coconut tree.

Doesn't look too pretty but its usefulness is beyond words.

Firstly, it's milk! Coconut milk. Good for thickening gravy and giving it the milky ('lemak') taste. Good for curry, 'masak lemak', etc. Really yummy.

Next (and perhaps the best use??), pina colada. One of my most favourite drinks, pina colada is a mixture of coconut rum and pineapple juice. Served chilled, it is just heavenly. Haha. I made a lot of this back in Kuching btw. Lol. Auntie just loves it a lot. Haha.

And now, even if you don't drink it as an alcohol drink, it is still good. Below here is before and after the coconut fruit is peeled.

This is the coconut peeler. My dad is like a pro.

One way to serve it. So yummy and refreshing. Had this after dinner in P.D. recently and it's free! We plucked the fruits of the tree. Haha.

Or you can enjoy it naturally. Haha. Seen below are 2 photos of Matt enjoying his coconut still in it's shell and even his spoon is coconut husk. Haha.

Now the leaves. One can do so much with the leaves. The Malays would love it for their 'ketupats' and the rest..for handicrafts? And I've had the opportunity to learn how to make grasshoppers out of the leaves recently from 'Sifu' Siu Yen Pin. Here are some pictures of the grasshoppers I made.

Now among other uses of the coconut are the making of palm wine in The Philippines and coconut nectar in Maldives.

In India, its uses wary too. Mostly it is used in dishes. It is also used to make coir (coconut fibers), brooms, baskets, mats, cooking skewers and for wedding and prayer functions too.

And that pretty much covers the usage of coconut. Now just for some general knowledge..

Top 10 Producers of Coconut in the World

Country Production (tonnes)
1. Philippines 17000000
2. Indonesia 15580000
3. India 9400000
4. Brazil 2770554
5. Thailand 1705446
6. Vietnam 962000
7. Sri Lanka 954000
8. Papua New Guinea 677000
9. Malaysia 568000
10. Myanmar 370000

Neat huh?

A Farmer, A Donkey And A Well

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally he decided since the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. So, the farmer invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed shovels, and began to shovel dirt into the well.

All the other farm animals were very upset about this, because the donkey was their friend. But they discovered there was nothing they could do to help him. At first, when the donkey realized what was happening, he cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well, and was astonished at what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off, and take a step up on the dirt as it piled up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well, and trotted off!

MORAL: Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. But each trouble can be a stepping stone. What happens to you isn't nearly as important as how you react to it. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not giving up!

Shake it off, and take a step up!

Obstacles are challenges for winners and excuses for losers.

Mignon The Firefly

After a week from its death day, we took a few minutes to dig it up and nothing much changes. Guess the box really preserved the body. Lol

I Guess It Is Not About Me. It Is About Them.

Today's The Star Online reports this.

Middle Eastern men attracted to locals

MEN from Middle Eastern countries are attracted to local Malay women because they are beautiful and soft-spoken, Utusan Malaysia reported yesterday.

They also claim that the women are independent, smart, generous, friendly and willing to compromise.

“Most Malaysian women are gorgeous, open-minded and rich,” said Saudi Arabian Syed Reza Walid, 26.

The college student from Damansara admitted that his girlfriend was a local Malay.

“Although I have only known her for three months, I really love her and wish to start a family with her here,” he said.

Kavel Shahi, 24, who has been here for six months, said a local girl and a fellow campus-mate has “stolen his heart”.

The student from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia said he was happy to have a loyal girlfriend.

Mahdi Saman, 24, said Malay women were hardworking and willing to help their friends from abroad.

Libyan Musbah Guma Alwarfaly, 26, said he was happy here because Malaysians were friendly and the different races were living together peacefully.

So it really isn't about me that 2 middle eastern guys like me. Lol.

Funeral For The Firefly

Yup. You read right. You don't have to pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming or wipe your glasses to see if you read wrong. I am very sure you read right. I guarantee you. FUNERAL FOR THE FIRELY. Is that big enough?

Lol! Anyway, today, at around 1p.m., I think, we had a little funeral ceremony for May Peng's firefly. This firefly came to my room last night and knowing how much May Peng likes fireflies, I gave it to her. Long story short, it died. God knows what May Peng 'did' to it. Haha! Just kidding. So to complete the mourning, darling, SHOE Chen, May Peng and I gave it a funeral rite. Darling even made a 'coffin' for the corpse. And SHOE Chen contributed a paper rose. One that is bigger than the 'coffin'. And then we walked it down 'memory lane' and finally to the 'burial ground'. Dug a 6 CENTIMETERS hole (LOL) and threw the 'coffin' in it and I even had to say something like I was the minister from the church! Lol. Then, we even washed our faces after attending the funeral. According to the Chinese beliefs, we have to. So that is the end of the funeral. Now we are having our 40 minutes mourning period, I think.

The firefly when I first noticed it.

The firefly in glowing in the dark.

Again, the firefly.

The rose for the deceased.

The 'coffin' with the corpse in it.

May Peng digging the grave.

The burial.

Still burying.

The end.

Geez! I just re-read this piece of crap and it really sounds like crap and we are a bunch of sick psycho students. -Sigh- Poor me. -Whines- The things we do.
