My Many Doctors

On Thursday, I went to my school's clinic to see a doctor. I was having fever, flu, cough and a sore throat and I was feeling dizzy. As usual, the school's doctor wasn't much of a help. I was still getting more sick.

Today, I went to an outside clinic to seek another doctor. It cost me RM35. 'Darling' CraBp accompanied me. Thanks, 'darling'.

However, little did I know that actually, when you have 10 friends around you, you actually have 10 "doctors" already.
A few will be telling you what you should not be eating.
A few more will be telling you that you should be eating porridge.
Another 2-3 will be asking you to go to bed all the time.
And the remaining friends will tell you to drink more water.

All they can't do is prescribe medicine. But the feeling of love and caring is still there.

So when one is sick and one has 10 nice friends, one actually has 10 "doctors". Thanks, guys.

And I hope I will be ok by tomorrow. I have to finish up my assignment!!

English Clubs Victorious

As I have mentioned earlier, last night, 2 more English clubs will be playing in The Champions' League and both clubs produced brilliant results. Liverpool did exactly what Arsenal did 2 seasons ago by defeating Real Madrid 1-0 in Madrid. Yossi Benayoun's header in the 82th minutes sealed it for The Reds. The Blues also won 1-0 against Juventus, thanks to Didier Drogba. Villarreal and Panathinaikos, however, drew 1-1 and last but not least, Bayern Munich travelled to Sporting Lisbon and fired 5 goals to nothing, virtually kicking Lisbon of the tournament already. Goals are from Franc Ribery (2), Misrolav Klose (1) and Luca Toni (2).

Now back to school. I guess I could say I am done with 2 assignments. Both are now with the lecturers for them to check to see if any amendments is needed. However, some sad news remains. I still have my Islamic Psychology assignment and that has gone nowhere so far and it dues in about 5 weeks time. Gonna start doing it today though. And I am having this horrible headache currently. Next, I also have a French folio to do and although only a simple one is needed, how simple does it gets when it is in French right? For me at least. Lol

Also, I am kinda worried about 2 more subjects. Firstly, Developmental Psychology. Until now, we already have our groups but still no assignment. And as for Statistics, we don't even have groups! So are our finals for both subjects worth 100%??? Or will the lecturers be giving us assignments at the very last minute? Either way, it kinda spells dooms day. -Sigh-

Geez.. My head is spinning already and I think it is time for me to take a breather. Have a nice day, guys!

Pokémon Once More

This event took place 2 weeks ago, I think. Lol.

"I am feeling so tired today. My legs are breaking, " said Soo Chen after a day of 5 classes, starting from 9a.m. to 10p.m.. Feeling tired ourselves, 'darling' CraBp and I fired back at her.

"You think we are not?" said CraBp. I couldn't agree more and added, "You think we did not walk? We teleported, is it?"

Soo Chen laughed and replied, "Yeah. Yeah. Like Abra."

And that line from Soo Chen sparked off a Pokémon frenzy night for the 3 of us as we walked back to our hostel.

The frenzy continued the next day as both 'darling' and I searched for more Pokémon to associate them with the rest of our friends. Eventually, we bumped into a Pokémon Personality Test. So the upstairs people and I took it. And below are the results.

1. Siu Yen Pin a.k.a. 'Darling' CraBp
After taking the test a few times (more like a million times actually), 'darling' got Charmander for about 9 times. So here she is.

Charmander is a reptilian creature resembling a bipedal salamander with some dinosaur qualities. Its most notable feature is the flame burning on the tip of its tail, which is there even at birth. It is said that if this flame goes out, the Pokémon dies.

2. Me
Like 'darling', I too, took it many times. And my frequent result is Cyndaquil.

Its fur is bluish on top of its body, but a milky color on the underside. Its eyes are often closed, as it is still young. It has four spots from which its flames erupt. It lacks claws on its forelimbs, but has a single claw on each hind foot

3. Perng Soo Chen a.k.a. ADHD
This one is a little bit complicated. There wasn't a clear cut Pokémon for her. She keeps getting different ones. Maybe it is a personality disorder. Lol. So anyway, we decided on these 2 Pokémon.

a. Skitty
She probably loves this much more as the colour of it is PINK.

Skitty is a pink feline Pokémon with a stumpy body, big head and a tail that resembles a plant. This all adds to an image of cuteness (T_T). They have slit-like eyes and ears with three tips to them.

b. Torchic

Torchic is small baby bird that is covered in red and yellow downy feathers. Its wings are underdeveloped and are almost useless aside keeping the Pokémon warm. Its legs and feet however are well developed for running and scratching. They also have a crest on their heads which vaguely resembles a flame.

4. Tan Siew Fen a.k.a. Fishball, Nemo, Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Stripes Girl, etc (This fellow has a never ending list of nicknames.)
She only took it once and she got Meowth, the one and only Pokémon who could speak English.

Meowth has a distinctly feline appearance, resembling a small house cat. It has cream-colored fur, which turns brown at its paws and tail tip. Its oval-shaped head features prominent whiskers, no nose, black-and-brown ears and a gold oval coin (also known as "charm") embedded in its forehead.

However.. We think this Pokémon below fit her better. And its name is another one of her amazing list of nicknames.

Introducing.. Snorlax!!

Snorlax's body is composed of mostly its belly, where most of its fat reserves accumulate. It wakes up only to eat and seldom exercises. Its head is also large, and it has two pointed teeth sticking out. Its feet are extremely large compared to most Pokémon, assisting its balance when it chooses to stand. Its arms are short, but are long enough for Snorlax to grab its food and eat it. It is dark blue in color.

Too bad it is not in stripes though. -Sigh-

5. Tan May Peng a.k.a. Old Man, PJ and Ancient (How she got these unique nicknames is a long story shared by the upstairs people and I.)
She took it a few times and thinks that whatever said about Totodile fit her best. So Totodile she is. Funny how she is a PJ and her Pokémon is a DINASAUR. Lol

Totodile look like a small blue alligator with red spines. It is bipedal and have sharp claws. Its large jaws are very strong and is filled with sharp teeth.

And just for fun, we think this Pokémon below fits my roommate.

Psyduck

Psyduck resembles a yellow duck or platypus with a VACANT STARE. Its appearance, according to the Pokédex, is meant to trick enemies into thinking it is weak. It has arms with three claws on each to deliver scratches if threatened.

We don't know about her tricking others but we can all tell she definately looks all confused and lost like Psyduck does more often than not.

That is a wrap!

Champions League Round of 16 (First Leg)

After last night's round of matches, I could say that both English teams in action did fine. Sir Alex Ferguson's side travelled to The San Siro to face old rival, Jose Mourinho (Internazionale) and the result was a goalless draw. Arsenal managed to edge another Italian club, Roma, 1-0 courtesy of Robin van Persie's goal. He was brought down in the penalty box and converted the penalty himself. In another match, Lyon was held by Barcelona (1-1) in Stade Gerland, France. Lyon opened the scoring through Juninho in the 7th minute and Barcelona equalised through ex-Gunner, Thierry Henry in the 67th minute. Also in action was Spanish side, Atletico Madrid. They took on Portuguese's Porto in the Vicente Calderon stadium, Spain. This match saw 4 goals being scored and the final result is a 2 all draw. Atletico first opened the scoring through Rodriguez in the 3rd minute before Porto's Lopez equalised. Just before the break, Atletico regained the lead as ex-Manchester United player, Diego Forlan scored. However, it was to be Lopez's night when he scored another equalizer, earning his side 2 valuable away goals, in the 72nd minute.

Tonight, another 4 matches will be taking place and it will feature another 2 English clubs. Liverpool will be travelling to Spain to face Real Madrid and without talisman Steven Gerrard, they will be looking to do what Arsenal did 2 seasons ago (beating Real Madrid at their homeground -no English team has ever done it except Arsenal). Another english side, Chelsea will be battling another Italian club, Juventus. It will be Chelsea's new manager, Guus Hiddink, first Champions League match for The Blues since taking charge and it will produce a mouth watering tie as Juventus manager, Claudio Raneiri, is no stranger when it comes to Chelsea (Ranieri is an ex-Chelsea manager). Another tie will see only German side left, Bayern Munich travelling to Portugal to face Sporting Lisbon. And last but not least is the match between Villarreal and Greek side, Panathinaikos.

In other news, Novak Djokovic displayed a lacklustre performance in the first round of the Dubai ATP Championship although he went on to defeat Italian qualifier Flavio Cipolla 6-3 6-2.

Fourth Draw In A Row

Arsenal dropped points again last night with their fourth draw in a row. It is getting really frustrating to watch them play at times. As usual, they had chances but did not take them well enough. Debutant, Andrey Arshavin, had 2 good chances in the first half and I think he did brilliantly in the game. Ma Lee thinks he is kinda cute. Lol. His first effort was a little wide while his second forced a good save from Sunderland's keeper, Marton Fulop. His substitute, Carlos Vela, on the other hand, was guilty for missing 2 good chances. He drove both chances wide and it drove me mad. Nicklas Bendtner was inconsistent last night. He only managed one good header whilst Robin van Persie was pretty good. He had 1 clear chance that forced Sunderland's keeper to another superd save. However, it wasn't all Arsenal as Sunderland too managed some really good efforts. But, I thought Arsenal should have attacked more and close the gap against fourth place Chelsea. -Sigh- In other matches, Manchester United widen the gap at the top with another win (2-1 against Blackburn) and in an earlier kick-off, Chelsea scrapped past Aston Villa 0-1 at Villa Park. Liverpool will be playing tonight against Manchester City.

Anyway, a HUGE THANK YOU to Ma Lee who actually accompanied me till 1 a.m., watching soccer. I think at the end of it, she has somehow like it. Lol. And I do think she enjoyed the game a little. She was rueing some chances that Arsenal missed throughout the match. An Arsenal fan in the making? Lol!

And finally, below are 2 pictures of debutant, Arshavin.

Arshaving shooting. This one eventually went wide. Good effort though.

Arshavin battling for the ball with Sunderland Teemu Tainio.

That's all from me this time. Have a good and nice Sunday.

Relieved!!

-Phew- I am finally feeling so relieved! I have been having anxiety (a little) since knowing I will be presenting my impromptu speech today. However it is now done and dust and I think I scored a 9 out of 10! Yippee! (If I saw my marks correctly. Lol.) Anyway, after we were all done with our speeches, we then headed over to JJ to have our long awaited pizza! Had a lot of cheese too. The container of cheese powder was almost empty by the time 'darling' and I were done with it! Mostly, though, it was my doing. And 'darling' was feeling extra generous today? Gave me an extra piece for dinner. Lol.

And yesterday, May Peng, Siew Fen, 'darling' and I went out with a bunch of IK people for dinner and supposely bowling. But the bowling alley was kinda packed. So we ended up at Danga Bay, doing crazy stuffs (racing one another on family bicycles). Lol. So I met some new people yesterday and I think they were kinda nice. Friendly too. One guy named Moses is kinda nosey. He kept asking me questions. Felt like I was interviewed. My 'driver', Eric was kinda nice too. Then there was a girl named..umm..'something' Fen who was also nice. She also said I looked like a friend of hers. Lol. And there was also one more called Phui See? God knows how to spell all these Chinese names. But I heard she goes by the name 'sotong' as well. So let us just keep it that way. According to 'darling', sotong was looking forward to see me and well, her dream came true last night. So anyway, the IK people were all nice and fun. So it was a pretty good night.

Now sports. Tonight, Arsenal will be facing Sunderland. Shouldn't be a problem, I think. New signing, Arshavin should debut although it is still unsure if he will start or benched. Nevertheless, I hope Arsenal will knick past the Black Cats. And Monday night hero, Eduardo is once again injured. He suffered a slight hamstring problem last Monday and will be out for at least 2 weeks.

Next, yesterday, 'darling' and I (and Soo Chen for the first half of the movie) watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and although the movie is quite slow, I felt that it has a nice story line and it was pretty interesting. And Brad Pitt, he looked awesome. Lol!

And that is a wrap!

Another Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARA!!!

It is my good friend's birthday today and it will be the first time since the past 3 years that I would not be going out to celebrate her birthday with her. But nonetheless, I wish her all the very best in life. Old already huh, Sara. Big old TWENTY-ONE. Lol. Don't time fly. I still remember knowing her for the first time way back when I was 13 and in a matter of 6 months, I too wil be 21 already. -Sigh- But it is just a number. So once again, to Sara, happy birthday and I wish you all the very best. Take care and God bless. I miss you very much, by the way! Lol

Happy Birthday, Mummy

Today's my mum's birthday and it will be the first time I am away from home on her birthday. I guess it is nothing big though. It is not like we were gonna have a huge party if I was back home anyway. Lol! But I would just wanna wish her all the best in life and I am sorry for being a nuisance? At times at least. Lol. So have a great one, mummy! And feel free to get something from Secret Recipe. I'll pay for it when I get back. :)

TRANSFORMERS TRAILER!!

People out there who just love the first Transformers, check this out. I know it is a bit late but it is never too late right? Lol. So below is a trailer of what to expect in the upcoming Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen. I think it is gonna be brilliant but like I have said before, all I ever hope when it comes to sequel is that it at least equals it's prequel. -Sigh- Many sequels have failed to do so but I am crossing my fingers that this wouldn't 'cause I will have to wait till this JUNE to watch it!!!!

Eduardo Back With A Bang

Last Monday, Arsenal had to face Cardiff City in a FA Cup fourth round replay and Arsene decided to field Eduardo and he was brilliant. His first match in almost a year after breaking his leg and he scored 2 goals. Amazing! Anyway, in that match, Arsenal defeated Cardiff City 4-0 to book their fifth round ticket against Burnley. It may sound like an easy tie but keep in mind that Burnley kicked Arsenal out of this year's Carling Cup. But with Eduardo back in style and Cesc on the brink of returning, I think Arsenal should be able to step up and improve. Hopefully, they will make a strong impact towards the end of yet another exciting season and clinch 4th spot at least. I need Champions' League football! Lol. And hopefully, I will be able to see Arsenal lifting up a trophy this season. It has been 4 years since they last did. -Sigh-

Anyway, to end this, here are some pictures of the hero of Arsenal on Monday.

Oh yeah. While you guys are reading this, my Catering finals are nearing and I have to come up with what I wanna cook. I need appetizer, main course, soup and dessert. MERCI! That is 'thank you' in French. That's a wrap!

The Problem With...

...having a good command of English is one gets bugged A LOT. I am not saying that my English is perfect or anything. But it is pretty obvious that I am the very few ones who have good command of English in class. And so, when it comes to assignments, I have to edit A LOT and it sucks!

On Saturday, I was freaking tired but had to edit one of my friend's work at night! 11 something and I must say that her English is pretty bad.

Yesterday, I was still lagging but had to edit my group members' work and I could have vomited blood. And to top it up, I am not even done with it! I only managed like 20% tops.

-Sigh- The Malaysian education system really has to be looked into and they should start producing people with better command of English. What we have here in universities are really depressing and not to mention, humiliating.

One Down! Yay! (Almost.. -Sigh-)

As I am posting this, I am down to 2 assignments! Or maybe I could say I am almost there. Lol. Nonetheless, yippee!!!! (2 more should be coming anyway. -Sigh-)

After 3 days of enslaving my buruh's', CraBp and Old Man (the other 2 have contributed nothing so far -not their fault as I did not actaully give them work and they will be contributing in other departments-), we are nearly completed with our Ethnic Relations paperwork. I must say though that it was not really tough actually as it was basically translation work only. But our Bahasa Malaysia is not exactly as good as it once was. Rusty already. Haha. But anyhow, a HUGE THANK YOU to my 2 beloved buruh's', 'darling' CraBp and Old Man for their contribution. I really appreciate your co-operation, especially 'darling' CraBp who was even willing to sleep at 12.30a.m. this morning in the completion of the paperwork (the only reason we actually stopped then and not later was because she got hungry). Also, sorry if I was too bossy. Lol. Just wanted to get it done asap. Lol

So now I just need to do some final touch up for Ethnic Relations paperwork, throw in some pictures and have it edited by another member. Then voila! I am officially down to 2! And soon 1! I am already halfway through with the paperwork on Hans Eysenck. I just need to edit 3 of my members' work and put them together and that should be it.

And then the toughest paperwork should begin. Islamic Psychology. Hate that subject but what the hack. Motivation In The Islamic Perspective. -Sigh- That should be extremely tough as until now, we don't really have any good source!! Argh! Hell!

Ok. I will just leave my vents about assignment there.

Now moving on to something more fun. Ma Lee actually has a keyboard with her for the past week. And guess what? These hands of mine (which has NEVER touch a keyboard or a piano before in their entire lifespan so far) actually have talent in playing the keyboard! Awesome huh? And I am not even boasting here. Ma Lee (an 8 grader in playing piano) said this, "You are a very fast learner and I think if you actually started learning a long time ago, you would probably be holding a diploma in piano already now." Cool! Lol. So now I am able to play a part of Beethoven's Fur Elise (even played it to my mum!) and also one really cute song. All thanks to my 'piano teacher'. Haha

Well, till then, I am done with this post. Wanna get back to my work. -Sigh-

The Next Time You Bathe, Think About It..

Disclaimer: This post is intended to everyone who comes across my blog. Not just UTM students.

I wonder if anyone could tell me why do people need to leave the shower on while they are washing their hair?

I was just bathing and I was accompanied by 2 others (in different cubicles - don't get me wrong). And while I was washing my hair, I turned off the shower like I usually do. Thanks to daddy and mummy who never fail to teach me a thing or 2 in conserving water. Anyway, while I was doing so, I could hear that the other 2 were also doing the same. And I can't help but to notice that their shower were still turned on. What is the need in leaving the water running? I don't see why one has to leave the water to waste. For guys..it ain't that bad. They wash their hair really fast. But girls..it takes us minutes long and sometimes we even do it twice and to top it up, we even condition our hair. So imagine how much water go to waste while one washes one's hair with the shower left running.

Pure wastage!

Fellow bathe'rs': Educate yourselves!

I know that water covers 71% of the Earth's surface. However, 97.5% of the Earth's water is salted. That leaves just 2.5% as fresh water of which over two thirds is frozen in glaciers and polar ice caps. The remaining unfrozen freshwater is mainly found as groundwater, with only a small fraction present above ground or in the air. And although fresh water is a renewable resource, the world's supply of clean and fresh water is steadily decreasing. Today, water demand already exceeds supply in many parts of the world and as world population continues to rise at an unprecedented rate, many more areas are expected to experience this imbalance in the near future.

Here in Malaysia, we still have a good amount of clean water. So should we be wasting it? I know many other countries who would love to have the amount of clean and fresh water that we possess here.

And here in Malaysia, we might not be feeling the effects of water shortage yet but the generations to follow might. So one question remains:

"Should our sloppy behaviour deprieve them of clean and fresh water?"

And to UTM students, don't tell me the reason you leave the water running is because your parents don't have to pay for it or because everything you use here are already paid for and you just wanna make full use of your money. It ain't about the money. It is about conserving precious water.

CNY Performance At DSI

Last night was quite the highlight of this year's CNY for me. The main highlight was getting fat 'ang pow's of course. Lol. And meeting family and winning money in poker. Poor papa. Can't even defeat me! Lol.

Anyway, Ma Lee, different block, some more different block and course people and I went over to DSI last night to catch some performance there. We went there 2 hours late actually but still managed to watch some really good acts.

We were first treated by UTM's Wushu Team. Their co-ordination wasn't good but overall it was still awesome.

Then Soka Gakkai Malaysia did a dance with those huge Chinese fans. Kinda pretty.

After that, we watched some really awesome acts. Some really cool dancers from Hot Dance Studio did break dancing. I must say that I am not a huge fan of break dancing but what they did was awesome. The feat for Teriyaki Boyz's Fast And Furious and PCD's Don't Cha was really good. Then 3 guys did some sort of a mime's act and it was cool. Then came 5 people doing Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5 and it was kinda cute. To close the act, Hot Dance Studio had 4 talented people doing Michael Jackson. They even did the moonwalk.

The night was then concluded by 'Fo Guang' Club. They sang. In Chinese. So I got bored then.

But overall it was kinda cool.

And for my stupid Hans Eysenck assignment, I am done with my part! Now I just have to keep pestering my members to do it asap for me to edit and if the goat approves it, I am down to only 3 assignments (excluding potentially 2 more to come though -sigh-).

Now sports. Liverpool won last night. Aston Villa did too. But Chelsea drew. Arsenal will be playing tonight. North London derby! Stupid Tottenham. They better not score last minute goals again! Argh! And Arsenal fans could see Arshavin in action today. Yay! And lastly, Man United will be up against their jinx opponent, West Ham United. Lets hope for an Arsenal win and Man United dropping points! That will be the perfect end to the weekend eh?

And that is a wrap. To all Hindu believers, Happy Thaipusam! And to the rest, have a great Sunday!

Hans Eysenck And Assignments And Tests

Assignments are now flooding in (I have 4 already and they all due around the same time) and for Psychology of Personality, I have to do on Hans Jurgen Eysenck. Not a choice of mine but what the hell. Stupid Goat. Anyway, I was searching for information of his theories and I stumbled upon a personality test of his and took it. Below are the results.

Eysenck's Test Results
Extraversion (57%) moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly talkative, outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense of developing your own individual interests and internally based identity.
Neuroticism (39%) moderately low which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.
Psychoticism (41%) moderately low which suggests you are, at times, overly kind natured, trusting, and helpful at the expense of your own individual development (martyr complex).

I guess I am overly talkative at times?? Geez.. I was never associated with that word before actually. But I think I could be now. Meeting 10 crazy people does a lot to you!

"..relaxed, calm, secure and optimistic." - That's more like it!

Now the last one. "..at times, overly kind natures, trusting and helpful at the expense of your own individual development (martyr complex)." - AS IF!!

So I guess this personality test ain't good. Me a martyr?? LOL!
Ok. Gotta get back to my work. 4 assignments + 3 tests next week. -Sigh- Hopefully I won't end up being really crazy.

Nice eh?

In a different news, Arsenal's FA Cup replay against Cardiff City is postponed due to heavy snow in London. Here is how The Emirates look like yesterday.

Looks really cold. Anyway, that's a wrap!
