Of Thesis And Library
..not on my shelf like the picture below.
But on one of the library's shelves. And it is written by a senior of mine. Awesome huh? Which senior?
38 Senior!! That's Sampat Senior (say 38 in Mandarin and you'll get it). Here she is below smilling like 38.
Anyway, since she is already a 38 Senior, my question now is the library 38 as well? Lol! It has got to be and I have friends here who will not even hesitate for a second to agree with me!
But anyhow, I would like to wish 38 Senior congratulations upon graduating. She has not officially graduate yet but she is totally convinced that she will. She is already saying her goodbyes. In addition, she had also began asking people, mainly my frends and I, to carry out a farewell party for her. Or is it a goodbye-and-we-are-happy-to-get-rid-of-you party? Lol. Just kidding. Anyway, I wish her all the best in life and hopefully everything goes well for her upon graduating. And I hate to say this but when it is all quite and gloomy, I think somehow, you will be miss for making lots of noise. Lol! I mean that in a good way though.
And by the way, I know you will read this, 38 Senior. So do not forget my Coffee Bean treat ya?
And now something unrelated to 38 Senior. Below is a really short conversation between 'darling' and I.
'Darling': =p Study la.. SO INTERESTING! (She meant study Islamic Psychology.)
Me: I know. I'm totally enjoying it and I'm having the time of my life! Later!
'Darling': I love your sarcasm! :-)
Islamic Psychology and sarcasm seems to go hand in hand pretty well now.
My Dad Was Right
Oh yeah. We (my friends and I) are still getting 'kee siao' reading it though. In fact, Ma Lee and I just spoke to a bird. She called it Natalia and I called it Ma Lee. And I was asking it to shut up or I shall have it for dinner (I even described how I was gonna kill it). However, I think Ma Lee won the bet when she said, "Natalia, go somewhere else to make noise" to the bird and it did. I am a bird. -Sigh-
In conclusion, Islamic Psychology and 'kee siao' goes hand in hand.
And I am 'loving' Islamic Psychology so much (what a hypocrite). -Sigh- I amaze myself at times.

I Just Have To Say..
..that I don't see any good coming from this subject.
..that I think it is EXTREMELY BIASED that we are made to study this subject. Clearly, it is to favour the majority race in Malaysia.
..that it is ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS in studying this subject.
..that my lecturer is just a total nutcase for asking us to read all the POINTLESS and FRUSTRATINGLY BORING as well as RIDICULOUS articles on Islam.
..that if we non-Muslims have to study this, why don't they make the Muslims study Buddhism Psychology or Hinduism Psychology or even better Christianity Psychology?
..and that everything that has to do with this subject is just so TERRIBLY MEANINGLESS, POINTLESS, CLUELESS, RIDICULOUS and it is a joke that we have to learn it.
..and for that, I am totally losing my mind and I am growing increasingly frustrated as I study for this bl**dy paper.
Hopeful
For the objective section, I have checked my answers and I think chances are I will get 15 or above that score. I am sure I got 15 out of 20 right though. For the subjective part, -sigh- (still frustrated over not having a question on the disorders). Anyway, I wrote on McCelland's theory that any given individuals have 3 main motives. I know it sounds boring but I managed to crap out 2 and a quarter pages of it and I think I would be able to score on it.
So back the title of this post, I am now hopeful of scoring an A for this subject (crossing my fingers for it and hopefully this sentence too wouldn't come back to haunt me later).
Anyway, I am done dwelling on this paper. 3 more days till I am done with my finals and I am now down to 2 papers and these 2 are probably the toughest for me. Islamic Psychology, which I still have not totally grasp, and Statistic, which I have no idea about. -Sigh- I am doomed but I shall work to overcome that before Wednesday. Wish me luck! (And keep me in your prayers?? Lol)
Oh yeah. Exam stress has now caused Siew Fen, who NEVER EXERCISES, to go jogging. -Sigh- Finals, studying too much and the hot weather really does things to everyone.
One last thing. Why do people have to constantly frustrate me with irritating questions? Can't they just drop the subject and take my answer as it is? Why bother asking me so many times when my answer is just gonna be what I have already told them? And why even bother asking for my answer if they are not gonna respect it? Are they that dumb and thick? Chill people and please, stop asking. My answers and intentions are clear. So just take my asnwers as they already are and stop bugging me. -Argh!!!- And stop ruining my mood and days! Bl**dy hell.

Ferrari Picked Up Its First Three Points At Sakhir
The 29-year-old's success at Sakhir dashed Toyota's hopes of a breakthrough first win after the Japanese manufacturer had started with both their cars on the front row for the first time.
Germany's Sebastian Vettel was second for Red Bull with Toyota's Italian Jarno Trulli finishing third from pole position.
Button, with four career wins, now has 31 points to Brazilian team mate Rubens Barrichello's 19 and Vettel's 18.
Champions Ferrari finally opened their account with 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen finishing sixth for the Italian team's first points of the year.
McLaren's world champion Lewis Hamilton, whose team could receive a heavy punishment at a hearing in Paris on Wednesday for lying to stewards at the Australian season-opener, took fourth place after an aggressive start.
Barrichello was fifth, ahead of Raikkonen, with Toyota's Timo Glock seventh and Renault's double world champion Fernando Alonso taking the final point on a hot afternoon with air temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius.
Glock, lighter on fuel than his team mate, made the quicker start and led for the first 10 laps before pitting and handing over to Trulli.
Button led for the first time in the race on lap 13, allowing Vettel and then Raikkonen to take brief turns at the front when he pitted, but was clearly in control for the final third of the race.
"We're going back to Europe with some very good points. Let's do it again in Barcelona," Button, who had started fourth, said as he took the chequered flag and punched the air in jubilation.
The Spanish Grand prix is next on May 10.
BMW-Sauber, who had hoped to be challenging for the title this season, had a dismal afternoon at the circuit that brought them their first pole position last year with Poland's Robert Kubica.
Both cars were lapped just after the halfway mark, with Kubica 18th and Germany's Nick Heidfeld the last finisher in 19th place at the chequered flag.
Williams's Japanese driver Kazuki Nakajima was the sole retirement.
And in other news, Arsenal defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 just now. I just got back from watching the match actually. Lol. Captain, Cesc Fabregas' brace helped The Gunners seal their victory over the Riverside team. Arsenal will next face holders, Manchester United, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions' League semifinal on Tuesday/Wednesday at Old Trafford. And that is probably a match I will have to miss since I am having my finals. -Sigh!!!- The other semifinal will see last season's losing finalist, Chelsea take on Barcelona.
Dependant Personality Disorder
"..tends to seek advice about even minor decisions, such as..and what entree to order at a restaurant."
"They may demonstrate how inept they are, so as to trick others into assisting them. They may even avoid becoming proficient at a task, so as to keep others from seeing that they are competent to work by themselves."
All of these sounds EXTREMELY FAMILIAR to me. Lol. Wonder if it makes sense to any of my friends. Lol.
Anyway, the good news is "..by giving over responsibilty and depending on other people, dependent persons may never discover that they can take care of themselves." That is the paradox of having this dependent personality disorder. What a loser.
Pictures!
I guess when you are an expert in your field, you just really are. See how cool this man is when drilling. He was standing in such a relaxing way and was even smoking.
How much can you drink? Foon Yee and Soo Chen can drink a lot. So could I actually. But in this case, they were drinking way more than Jing Bao. And..
They even finished first!
And lastly, how desperate can one be when finding for a date for a dinner? Apparently, all way goes when coming to find a date including advertisements.
And you get paid too! But it sounds creepy to me. Lol!
My One Hell Of A Lazy Roommate
So why is she lazy? At the beginning of our first semester, it was a done deal that I sweep and she mops. But she missed her duty MANY times. And this semester alone, she skipped so many times and I only asked her to mop ONCE A WEEK! Is that too much to ask? Freaking lazy ass! This month alone, she hasn't even touch the damn mop! 3 weeks ago, I can't remember what took place, but she didn't mop. The past 2 Sundays, she was back in her hometown and I mopped for her. Last night, I swept at 11.30p.m. and asked her to mop before she leaves today and she just didn't! (I am controlling myself from using "prettier" words now.) How can she forgets when the mop and the pail are just right in front of her eyes?! Bl**dy hell!
Anyway, I am gonna go mop the floor now in an angry mood. And I really feel like throwing the water I will use to mop later on her bed. But I shall not lower myself to her level. I think I am better than that. Wait. Of course I am. Lol. But there is one thing I would really love to do. I would really like to throw her phone out of the room when it rings in the middle of the night. Can she just be more f***ing considerate? People need to sleep for Christ' sake!! And for this reason alone, though, I am thankful that the semester is coming to an end and that next year, I am living nowhere near this freaking bl**dy hell ass.
Oh yeah. When I am sweeping the floor, by the way, she never fails to dust her side of the room. And the way she dusts is like she wants to beat the hell out of her table and bed and then she would make me sneeze for the whole day. And it even hurt my eyes. No brains, roommate.
In addition, I have a fridge here in my room and of course, we have to pay for using it. My stupid roommate and I shared for it and she knows how to fill it up. But when it comes to cleaning the fridge, she never bothers to even offer help. What do I expect at this point right? And the funniest thing is that, Soo Chen, Foon Yee and Ma Lee and maybe 'darling' (I forgot if she did) have all volunteered to help me before and they don't even use it. The clear difference between people with heart and without one. And maybe I should "iced" her one day. Lol.
Oh yeah. I am so happy and proud of myself that I did not bother telling her that we had to read the book and not just the slides for our Developmental Psychology. The lecturer first said it would be suffice to just read the slides but if you really have the brains in the first place, you would know it will not be. The slides are just too simple. Out of laziness to read the book though, I double-checked with the lecturer and she said, "Who said the slides would be enough? I didn't." She did but I guess it must have slipped her mind. But it is TOTALLY alright. 'Cause I did and my dinosaurs did and the paper didn't really slay us but it did killed my roommate. And she can fail it for all I care. But I am not saying that I would do well 'cause the paper was indeed tough. Lol.
-Sigh- I have said it before and I am saying it again. This roommate of mine is not stupid or ignorant alright. But she is definately a f***ing jerk. And lazy and untidy. VERY. -Argh!!!-
P/S: Readers, feel free to curse all you want in your comments. I wouldn't mind at all. :) Well, as long as you know which way to curse of course. Lol!

3 More!!
Today's paper was challenging by the way. But it is definately university standard. Who cares anyway. As long as I get my A!! Lol!
And I got some carry marks.
Personality Psychology - 50/60. I need 30/40 for my finals for my A and I think that is possible. I think.
Islamic Psychology - 54/60. Looks brighter but the subject is MORE BORING and TOUGH. Plus, last semester I got 54/60 also and I ended up with an A-. -Sigh-
Anyway, I was thinking to get myself pizza for dinner later. Been wanting it since yesterday. Anyhow, I am off to bed. -zzzzz-

What Common Bathroom Is Like
After almost a year using common bathroom, I think it is time I mention a thing or 2 about it.
When I first got here, it was DIFFICULT to bathe. I wasn't used to it and it disgusted me. But as time passed, I got ok with it.
However..
..sometimes, I still disgusted while bathing as I hear someone washing her clothes in the neighbouring cubicle. It is really disgusting to do that and with the other people's soap water and some remaining of God knows whose urine on the floor, I seriously think the clothes washed were way cleaner before they were "washed".
Next, sometimes you get treated to "beautiful songs" while you bathe. No offense but how nice does it gets when you can't even recognise the songs? But so far, I have heard "the most beautifully sung" Hot N Cold and also the "award winning" Big Girls Don't Cry. People should just really learn to shut up while bathing. SERIOUSLY.
In addition, if your nose is as sensitive as mine, you sneeze a lot because there are all kinds of smell you get when you are bathing. Sometimes, it is strawberry. I believe it is Ah Ma's. Sometimes, shampoo smells like honeydew. Sometimes, it is minty smell. At other times, it just smells like any other body lotion and shampoo. But most of the times, you get weird smell. Even my roommate's smells weird and hers really makes my nose hurt. She says hers is from the temple and it is able to 'shoo' evil spirits away. Cool.
Also, you get dirt. "DIRT". Bathroom and bathing really gives you "dirt". I think bathing just really gives people the mood to b***h about others. Trust me. And the funniest part is that sometimes, they b***h about you. I have been in that situation. I was just having my half an hour bathe when 2 coursemates of mine just get in to my left and right cubicles to bathe and b***h about my other friends and me. Awfully "nice" people. And don't think that just because my Mandarin sucks, I don't understand what they said. Lol. So words of caution, don't b***h about others while bathing. You never know who is listening.
Well, I guess this post is pretty interesting.
In short, common bathroom is a place that disgusts you, it "sings" to you, it gives you all kinds of smells and you hear people b***hing. How "interesting" my bathes are here. Lol.
Oh yeah, while we are speaking of bathrooms, save water while you bathe ok?
And by the way, noticed the circled area in the photo I posted with this entry? That is where cockroaches live. I have seen a few there and the best part is, Malay girls love hanging their towels over the bar. EEW!!!

What Hot Weather And Studying Does To You
And I found out that we might have to retake our stupid English papers. God knows why but I do know it is bloody inconvenient and troublesome. I thought I heard the last of the subject 2 days ago. But apparently, no. -Sigh-
Damage Control??

Yup, that is number 4 of the night, Andrey.
I must say though, that Andrey has silly expressions whenever her scores. -Sigh-

I Am Blessed
..angry
or
..sad.
Whenever, Petrie gets..
..tired after being hyperactive.
Whenever, Duckie gets..
..mad and starts scolding like an 'Old Man'
or
..sad and mignon.
Whenever, Spike goes..
..all confused and blur again.
And
whenever, Little Foot feels..
..lost and lonely.
If we just hold on together..
..we will be alright.
They actually went a goal down at first as Mido scored. However, Arsenal clawed back with 4 goals through Theo Walcott, Mikael Silvestre, Andrey Arshavin and Alexandre Song. So final whistle, Wigan 1 Arsenal 4.

People..
When one starts one's university life, one is bound to meet people from all walks of life.
Some are smart asses
Some are know-it-all (as if!)
Some are naive (hmm..)
Some are extremely sensitive (hate this kind)
Some are caring, empathatic and loving
Some are b***hes or SOBs
Some are bl**dy irritating
Some are pain in the neck
Some are just too nice (or you think they are)
In short, one meets either straight forwardly nice people, straight forwardly bad asses or the worst kind, the ones who pretend to either be nice or evil with their own personal hidden agendas. And these are the parasites who will just smile at you while they are actually silently sucking your blood (metaphor speaking, of course).
And let me enlighten something, the naive ones are sometimes the ones to watch. Do not take them for granted. You may remember that a while ago, I did a post on Pokémons. And I actually learnt something from that post. Mainly concerning this particular Pokémon named Psyduck and I quote "Psyduck resembles a yellow duck or platypus with a vacant stare. Its appearance, according to the Pokédex, is meant to trick enemies into thinking it is weak." So think again because I did and I can seriously tell you it makes sense. Also, if anyone of you are the too nice and kind ones, toughen up before you are taken advantage of and before others step on your head.
But then again, not everyone you meet are evil. From personal experiences, I have met some awfully nice people also. And these are the ones you put effort into keeping them as friends.
Lastly, as for me, thankfully, I am just too stubborn to give in, hot headed and also someone who is just so straight forward. So at least I am quite well taken care of. And I should just throw this in while I am talking about people, "Mess with me and don't even think I will let you go without creating hell for you." Just a word. Have a nice day, people. That is to all kinds of people. Lol!

No Worries, Mummy And Daddy
Firstly, frankly speaking, Jesus is not even crucified yet. And to me, it is actually not appropriate to celebrate Easter actually. But I just wanted to explore a little and I think it was a good exposure to me 'cause I know where I truly belong after all.
From the time I was born, before I could walk and talk, I am already a Catholic. And although I am not a pious one, I do go to church, say my prayers and stuffs. Also, I have never been to any other churches before and that is why it is so shocking to me when I attended the IK celebration.
In Roman Catholic churches, the hymms sung are soft, light and uncomplicated. BUT today for the IK celebration, the hymms they sung were extremely loud and pain to my ears! And the people there were jumping up and down and some of them was even raising their arms up and pointing upwards while their eyes were closed. This is the way they worship, I suppose and to me it is really strange. And no offense but at some point, I actually felt like these people were possessed! I am sorry if this offends anyone and call me a weirdo, dodo, stupid or whatever but it was just really weird.
Also, I think that if any of the people from churches that practice a similar way of worshipping were to attend a Roman Catholic service, they would leave the faith. 'Cause it would be too boring and dull to them. And this brings me to wonder if some of them actually join those churches because they were first attracted to the music. You know, way before they were even touched by faith. But again, no offense, I am sure some of them actually have true faith in God.
Still, I think it takes more for a youngster to practice the Roman Catholic faith these days. 'Cause it really takes faith to be a Catholic as there are no rock music, dancing and exciting activities to attract and welcome a new member of the church.
All in all, this is a post containing my opinion and I am not trying to offend anyone. Therefore, I am sorry if I did.
But to mummy and daddy, rest assured that after a little exploration today, I am very sure that while I am not a pious Catholic, there is no other denominations that will be able to make me leave my Roman Catholic faith. I am a true Catholic after all and I feel so much better and comfortable in a Roman Catholic church.
What Superior Is At Times
So anyway, my second semester is already coming to an end. Time just passes extremely fast! And so, finals are once again nearing and I will have to visit the "morgue" again soon. Freezing cold "morgue". But it is a good place to study. With 'darling' perhaps or maybe she will be off to 'PH's' often. I don't know. Lol. Anyway, next week, is already our study week and then our finals will officially take its place.
Looking back to this semester, I think at times, I know what it feels like to be superior. I think this is why I will have to be careful with what I say here so as to not hurt the feelings of others but I think a few will agree with me. 'Darling' maybe? Lol. We did talk about it anyway.
This semester, we had a lot of assignments and since 2 monsters decided to be in the same group, 'darling' and I finished up them really quick. So I realised that when it comes to any assignments at all, there is not a single time when a person from any other group could avoid coming up to me or Yen Pin to ask a question in order to complete their assignment. It may be a question about the format, the lecturer's name or whatever. The point is they must just ask us something. Now that is feeling superior alright.
Next, being the only Chinese in the futsal team in God knows how many years, people wanted me manager. So that is another cool point. And during the futsal tournament last Saturday, I didn't even have to run to give my team 2 wins. How much easier can it get?
And lastly, for next semester's faculty night, my course was chosen as the leader to organise everything and I am pretty amazed and shocked that most of my friends actually want me in-charge of it. And so they made me the leader of organising a function. Who does that? My name wouldn't even cross anybody's mind back in high school when it comes to organising a function. Lol. But now, it is a whole different story and I guess that is just how much I've grown. And I would really love to thank all my pals for actually trusting me with something so big.

A Wet Race In Sepang
Half points were awarded for only the fifth time in Formula One history because only 32 of the scheduled 56 laps had been completed before a torrential downpour turned the track into a lake.
With thunderclaps and lightning streaking across the darkened Sepang skies, making driving conditions impossible even behind the safety car, the race was red-flagged and then abandoned.
Button, who had again started from pole position after a Brawn one-two in the Australian season-opener last weekend, was leading behind the safety car when officials signalled the halt.
The Briton, who also won in Melbourne with the safety car deployed, had already made four pitstops in the changing conditions and was only third at the end of the opening lap after a slow start.
"What a crazy race, it really was," said the 29-year-old after some slippery podium celebrations. "I still haven't seen the chequered flag (this season) without the safety car in front.
"It was really bad conditions, you couldn't actually see the circuit," added Button, who now has three career wins.
Germany's Nick Heidfeld (BMW-Sauber) was second for the eighth time in a so far winless career, with compatriot Timo Glock third for Toyota with the results based on the positions at the end of the 31st lap.
Italian Jarno Trulli, who was third for Toyota in Melbourne, finished fourth ahead of Brawn's Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and Red Bull's Australian Mark Webber in sixth.
McLaren's world champion Lewis Hamilton, at the centre of a furore after he and his team were found to have deliberately misled stewards in Australia, was seventh while Germany's Nico Rosberg collected half a point for Williams in eighth.
"All I could do was try and keep the car on the track," said Hamilton.
"It was the correct decision to stop the race because it was just too dangerous for everyone. I love it when it rains, but this was just too much."
Rosberg, who had warned earlier in the week that the late-starting race was likely to be halted by the weather before the scheduled twilight finish, had led the first 15 laps until he pitted.
Reigning constructors' champions Ferrari are still without a point from two races after Brazilian Felipe Massa was ninth and 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen 14th after he changed to full wet tyres too early and paid a heavy price.
There was confusion after the race was abandoned, with drivers awaiting the unlikely chance of a re-start while the clock ticked towards the two-hour limit and the daylight faded.
With Glock ahead of Heidfeld at the red flag, there was also uncertainty about the final podium positions.
"My engineer told me: 'You are P2 (second place)' and then I came up here and I'm P3," said a bemused Glock.
"I'm fine with second," replied Heidfeld.
The last race to be abandoned due to heavy rain was Australia in 1991 when the grand prix was halted after 14 of the 81 scheduled laps. Others have been cut short by accidents or re-started.

KTR Sports Carnival
So for this sports carnival, I participated in 2 events, namely futsal and badminton (doubles with 'darling').
Yesterday, the futsal matches took place. There were 4 teams and we played the lose-and-you-are-out style. So basically you only play 2 matches. For our first match, we were drawn against the defending champions and I was wary of the threat they could pose. But silly me. Most of them played with 2 left legs (terrible in other words). I wasn't even into the game that much. 'Cause I kinda know that the rest of my players are actually playing for 'kad aktiviti'. So ok. I played the smart way. I just walk around lazily, waiting for people to feed me the ball. And when they do, I strike alright. I think I only got the ball 3 times? And I scored 2 goals. Both goals were fairly easy strikes anyway. Nothing much to brag. So we go through the next round having won 2-0. Thanks to me! Lol.
The next game between the 2 other teams is unspeakable. It ended goalless and they were supposed to go on into extra time but I guess the guy who was in-charge got bored with them. So he decided to just go into the penalties. And LOL! Some of them kicked like they haven't eaten for years!! Lol. So anyway, eventually, only a penalty was converted.
In the finals, again, I played lazily but I kinda participate more this time around. I had 3 attempts in this match and I converted 2 of them. The first one was a stupid strike. I kicked the ball exactly at the keeper's legs and I was cursing myself for it. And also laughed when I heard the keeper's immediate action. She said, "Adui! Sakit la" while rubbing her legs. Later I actually tried feeding the ball to my partner but somehow the ball rolled into the goal. So 1-0. My third goal of the day. Then came half time and I was just edging to get on with it as the sun was roasting me. I actually think my arms are darker too now. But anyway, the match continue in a dull fashion until Ma Lee came and I thought lets scored one for her since she came all the way to see me. And boy did I do it in style! I got the ball after the opponent's corner and I just ran beating a player and then doing a stepover to beat the last defender (love that moment) and then go on to scored. So again 2-0 and we won the tournament. Yay!
Today, we had badminton doubles and I guess 'darling' and I (or maybe just me) actually underestimated the opponent 'cause I actually still think they are kinda amateurs but who am I to say 'cause we lost. Lol. Guessed the both of us were playing with 2 left hands. Lol! We just made mistakes after mistakes. Either I hit too long or smashed the ball into the net or 'darling' miss hits or the ball doesn't go over (the net still hates her). But I still enjoyed it and I think it tells me that I may be good when playing friendly but tournaments? Forget about it! LOL!
So that is about it for me. In short, I was a monster in one and a rat in another. Lol!

Brawn Wins On Their First Outing
Button led an astonishing Brawn one-two ahead of Brazilian Rubens Barrichello in the season's opening race in Melbourne.
No Formula One team had won on their debut since Wolf in 1977 while the last to secure the top two places first time out was Mercedes in 1954.
McLaren's world champion Lewis Hamilton, who started 18th after a catastrophic gearbox failure in qualifying, showed all of his fighting spirit by clawing his way back to fourth place.
The 29-year-old Button led from pole to chequered flag at Albert Park, taking his first victory since Hungary in 2006 and scoring more points in a single afternoon than he had in the previous two seasons with Honda.
Barrichello started and finished second but only after Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and BMW-Sauber's Robert Kubica collided three laps from the end while second and third respectively.
That brought out the safety car for the closing laps before it came in at the final corner.
Italian Jarno Trulli, who had started 19th and in the pit lane for Toyota, took third place.
Germany's Timo Glock was fifth for Toyota ahead of Renault's Fernando Alonso and Williams' Nico Rosberg. Toro Rosso's Swiss rookie Sebastien Buemi became the 58th driver to score on his debut with eighth place.
Button, written off as an overpaid has-been when Honda decided in December to pull out, completed an astonishing comeback that ensured he will never again be regarded as a one-hit wonder.
"Sensational job. Fantastic. Well done, you deserve it," team principal Ross Brawn told Button over the team radio after he crossed the line.
"Thank you, you are all legends. It's going to be a great year," replied Button.
The first race of a new-look Formula One, with radically-revised aerodynamic regulations, slick tyres and the new KERS energy recovery systems, turned the starting grid upside down and shook up the pecking order as many had predicted.
Neither of the Ferraris finished, with Felipe Massa retiring on the 46th lap and 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen following him out. Hamilton's Finnish team mate Heikki Kovalainen retired after being caught in a first lap coming together.
